I am still seeing this on the latest version 2.0.5 but have seen screen shots in this thread (Message # 85) where the prefixes have been removed in version 2.0.3.

Also, is it possible to rearrange the columns? Talk Groups and User ID are a lot more important to me than the frequency but have to constantly scroll to the right to see them. Then once I do, as soon as the next file plays the screen is shifted back to the left hiding the TGID and UID.
Prefixes removed for Whistler scanners. For Uniden scanners prefix still showing.
You may manually rearrange columns as you wish. Just drag and drop them.

I'm using 2.0.5 and I do not see this, it just shows the TGID/UID number, check to make sure you are using the right version.

You can rearrange the columns yourself by left clicking (Shift+Left mouse button) on the header title and moving it where you want it. Also if you enlarge the player to full screen (click on box top right corner) you'll see all columns and won't have to scroll over.

Thank you. Why wasn't it removed for Uniden scanners? It is totally unnecessary and causes needless clutter.

Previous reply from deim says the prefixes were removed for Whistler scanners but not Uniden and I am using an SDS200 so that's why they are still there in the latest version 2.0.5 for me.

Thank you for the information on rearranging the columns. I did have the player in full screen but noticed I had one channel with a lengthy name. While playing all files, when the highlighted cursor scrolled down to this file with the lengthy channel name, the "Channel" field column expanded to show the entire channel name which of course shoved the TGID and UID field columns to the right out of view. Once the lengthy channel name scrolled off the screen the "Channel" field column stayed expanded keeping the TGID and UID field columns hidden off screen. Manually adjusting the width of the "Channel" field column to be narrower fixed the problem and kept that column from expanding when the highlighted cursor came to the lengthy channel name again, but the issue returns the next time you start the player.

It's not a big deal as I can see some people wanting to see the entire lengthy channel name and some wanting to see the UID and TGID and rearranging columns can solve this, as well as using shorter channel names. The alternative would be to dynamically change the width of the "channel" filed column as lengthy channel names come and go off the screen but if it happens frequently that would be constant shifting of the screen. Maybe an option to save the column widths that you have manually adjusted when closing the player.

I just came across this post and downloaded the player yesterday and it is fantastic, but I noticed with the latest version, as I am playing all files and the highlighted cursor is scrolling down as files are played, if I try to scroll the screen up and down by dragging the little square in the vertical scroll bar at the far right of the player, everything works fine. However if I click above or below the little square in the vertical scroll bar to scroll up or down a page at a time, the player stops playing the files and I have to press on the "Play" icon again to resume play. Is this a bug?

Update version to 2.0.6.
  • Fix bug with vertical scroll bar.
  • Removed UID/TGID prefix for Uniden scanners.
  • Added save column reorder and width features.
  • Added play file progress bar.
Just tried it and those bugs were all fixed. A donation will be incoming,

The only thing I don't get is that when playing All Files the cursor moves, and the player plays, the files from top to bottom but the files load with the most recent time stamp at the top and the oldest time stamp at the bottom. This means you are playing and hearing conversations in reverse order so of course they don't make sense.

You can click on the "Date and Time" column to revere the order of the files and they will play in the correct order from oldest to most recent but the player does not retain that setting. I don't understand why you wouldn't default the player to load the files with the oldest time stamp at top and the newest at the bottom so that that the conversations play in the correct order.

Also a super minor nitpick but the program icon is black so is almost impossible to see when it sits in my system tray.

files are added in datagrid absolutely unordered, because they process in different cpu threads. You may try to add the same directory multiple times and the files may ordered different way.

I'm seeing the same thing on those files @Ubbe posted, in EZ Scan it shows DCS 125 but in the player it is DCS 006.
Unfortunately, I do not have any conventional audio files displaying DCS to see if it is all or just those.

It's all different values of DCS codes that show up as 006 in the player.

If it is different players used for wav and ua or it can be sensed which file types are played, can the ua files have less audio level as they are at least twice the volume compared to the wav types and whistler doesn't filter off below 250Hz as Uniden do so the bass tones are booming out of full range HiFi speakers.

@deim you are the best, thanks for all your hard work making this player a valuable tool for scanner listeners of all makes.

I was curious, do they allow scanners in Russia and what type of traffic can you hear? Is there a lot of radio traffic to listen to?

well, in Russia uses different radio standards. Analog uses in small towns, in big cities builds different types of trunked networks.
P25 phase 1(scrambled/unscrambled) for police. p25 phase 2 not used.
different types of DMR for commercial users.
Tetra for goverment secured services.
Appears also NXDN.
Radio amateurs use DMR, analog
Also for high secured communication uses digital standarts which developed entirely in Russia.
Radio scanners not forbidden in Russia. We have a lot of interesting traffic to listen.
