Utilized the Uniden wav file player and organizer for the very first time today. Noticed that the UID column is blank but the UID NAME column is being filled in. Is this normal?
With my SDS200 display set to show UID and UID Name, if I have entered a name for a UID in Sentinel the SDS200 displays the UID Name only and not the UID and I found the Uniden Wav file player duplicates that behavior. I am guessing it is normal as the player is just displaying what the SDS200 is telling it via the info in the file which is based on how the scanner is configured.,

You seem super helpful for the sds100/200.
How can I record audio? WIth the trx I have a tickBox in the program but on sentinel it doesn't have that. Is it possible to have the record turn on automatically when the scanner turns on?
Thanks in advance

To record audio on SDS scanners:

1. Press the Function knob.
2. An "F" will display at the top left corner of the display for about 3 seconds.
3. Within that 3 seconds press the "Replay/Record" key (it's under the 0 key).
4. The display will ask if you want to start recording. Press the "E/Yes" key. You will see "Rec" somewhere on the display.

To stop recording do steps 1 - 3. The display will ask if you want to stop recording and then ask if you want to save the files. Press the "E/Yes" key to both questions. The scanner saves the files in folders of 100 files. When you stop the record function it will tell you that you have xx files to save. This xx (24 for example) refers only to the files in the last folder that hasn't filled up to 100 files yet. When you Press "E/Yes" it will say those xx files along with all the full folders of 100 files so don't be concerned.

While listening, the SDS scanners also allow you to replay the last xx number of seconds of audio depending on how you have that option configured by pressing the "Replay/Record" key. I have mine set to never use the replay option so am not sure but if you have replay enabled you might have to disable it in order to record.

I must have a bad firmware then. Mine turns off when I restart it.
I just tried it and and my recording stays on after a power cycle. I have the latest firmware which has been out for months:
Main version 1.10.00
Sub Version 1.02.01

Do a firmware update through Sentinel.

I’ll have to take a look at it when I get home. I do the record buttons but after I reboot it I have to do it again.
If I turn the 100 off before stopping the saving buttons, does it save or do I always need to fn + rec to save audio?

When I’m off work later I’ll do that. I’m pretty sure I did update the scanner and sd card files dB

Update version to 2.0.9.
  • fix bug with csv export
  • fix bug with m3u playlist export
  • Added time slot information to DMR records.
  • Fix TGID, UID info extracting from RAN and DMR records.
Where do I download this from? The google link on number one doesn’t work.

What system type are that, P25? The scanner has to decode the UID number and then it looks in the name table you have programmed if it finds a match.

So the UID are there in the scanner and it should be able to display it. If the UID have no match with the a name it displays UID also in the UID name field. It has to be a bug in the scanner in its P25 mode as it works as it should in DMR mode. Add that to your bug list to Uniden.

Where can I download this? I have clicked on the links supplied (Release.zip) and get nothing. I tried the zip extractor too with no results. Am I missing something? Thanks, Bob.

There were a couple issues we mentioned about the latest version, so he may be working on it.

Have about 550 Unit ID’s and Unit ID Names entered via Sentinel for a P25 system. Both the Unit ID number and the Unit ID Name are displaying on both the SDS 100 & SDS 200 detailed screens but only the Unit ID Name appears in the Uniden wav player and organizer program.

SDS100 are displaying both uid and uid name for P25 but Wavplayer do not show the uid.

The UID are stored at 0586 and 0587(hex) in the audio file.

Oh, I have an SDS200 not the SDS100 so it is probably different.

My SDS200 appears to restart with recording enabled about 90% of the time that it power-cycles if recording had been previously enabled. The only time I can guarantee that it will NOT do it is if:

* First time running after the SD card has been removed & updated (i.e. I take the card out, put it in my computer, do updates, put it back in the scanner, and restart the scanner)
* If the scanner has not shut down properly at least once after recording was enabled. So for example, if recording was enabled, and then power was disconnected from the radio without doing the proper power-down procedure, upon startup again it would not be recording. However, if the scanner was powered down properly and restarted, subsequent restarts would have recording enabled.

Because of this last point I'm suspecting there is some kind of status bit set in a config file somewhere. I haven't bothered tracking it down yet.

Every time you properly power down, the display will show "Writing to SD card" and at that point it saves all the settings in the scanner to a profile.cfg file. The profile.cfg will be overwritten by the profile settings from Sentinel anytime you program the scanner from Sentinel. If you first read the scanner, but choose to skip to overwrite any favorite lists, it will update the profile in Sentinel with the scanners current settings, like record mode and IFX settings and filters you have altered directly in the scanner.

In that file in your scanners SD card, or in the Uniden folder where your settings are stored in your computer, you'll also see that the clock is set to 24 hour time format and type 2.0 that might indicate that there at some point where ideas that you could have a 12H am/pm clock and it might also be displayed in two different formats.
