Bug fixes; eliminates some work-arounds from the previous version. Noteworthy:
No longer need to set a "dummy" second radio just to get the program started.
EDACS I-calls were partly broken - fixed.
Editing the "delegate" only worked in hexadecimal display mode - fixed.

Just installed 8th Public Beta. I'm currently running into a problem where on a Motorla system, Unitrunker is picking up the first active talkgroup, and it doesn't release it. It will lock the tuning radio onto the frequency of the first active talkgroup and then nothing else will show up on the screen except for the initial talkgroup. Other talkgroups will become active on the system - but unitrunker will not dispaly or tune them. I've attached a screen shot to show you what happens.

However, on EDACS - Same problem will occur, except when another talkgroup becomes active, or the same talkgroup becomes active, it will display on the screen and tune the radio.

I'm currently using a tapped BC785D for the control channel radio and a BC785D w/ Digital Card as the reciever. This setup worked fine with Trunker, and earlier versions of Unitrunker. Windows 2000 for the O/S.

Thanks

Under the [L]isten submenu, change the Park mode from "Mute" to something else.

This may have been mentioned before for earlier versions:

If you go to Find and then Chans while in decimal mode and then put the decimal LCN (EDACS system) in it ends up converting it to hex and giving you the hex LCN on the next screen. IE if I put in LCN 13 on the next screen I end up getting 19.

If I change everything to hex I'm then able to enter letters while searching for an LCN so I'm able to get the LCN I want.

Rick, I am happy to report the phantom group problem on the 9600 EDACS system I monitor has been squished. It has been running for a day now and not one mysterious group with only one hit has appeared. What was it in the end that was causing the problem?

Beta 8 is running fantastic so far.

Here's one for the wish list:

How about updates that don't require uninstalling the old version first? I'm not complaining about the way it's been done so far because I think I understand the reason for wanting a clean install of beta software. However, at some point the program will be mature enough that such manual cleanups should not be required. How soon could we start experimenting with "full" versus "update" options on future betas?

First off I love this program. I updated from July's Version to the newest. The only thing I noticed is the newest one would only show one of the radio ID's in a I-Call. I know it is a I-Call because my BR330T shows both ID's. Anyone else see this. Thanks

I've noticed this too, I was wondering if perhaps RFMobile was going to have a fix or an answer to this. I can see who is receiving the I-Call but not who is making it.

Other than that very good program, runs smooth!

I'll check that out. Thank you.

Looks like we still have a problem - see below.[/quote]

The installation includes an un-install. Go to the control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs", locate UniTrunker and click the "remove" button. I guess the fancy way to go would be to have the installer locate and run the un-installer for the existing version first. Hmmm...

Does the newest version have affiliation logging ??
LOL! No, not yet.

I thought we had this fixed ...

Ok, that confirms it. I'll check this out.

That's kind of what I meant. Instead of making the user do a two-step to update to a new version, have the installer do it, like most other upgrade packages.

Havent had any problems up until today now I am getting hit ...

At the end of every call the volume on my voice receiver (396) is getting set to 0. Any clue whats going on?

Well I downloaded the 8th beta and installed it - voice was working again, but the screen freezes on the last call received while the voice continues to receive future calls. hmmmm going back to 0.1.0.38 :)

Rick, the I call "problem" if you want to call it that shows up here on my system, but ONLY on digital provoice I calls. Analog I calls work just fine. I didn't think it was a problem, only more of the way provoice i calls are handled.

I think I found my bug - I had the parked mode set to mute - I switched it to go to a different frequency and the screen is flowing again. Odd. Now to go back and install the latest version. Thanks for a great program and all your hard work!

Greetings Rick,

I'm running beta 8 on my two locations here, and things are looking good. As always, I have some observations. :)

In the GID file on my Motorola II/Smartzone monitor, I seem to be logging separate lines for each status of a particular talkgroup, i.e. for talkgroup 48 (hit counts 32,000+), I also have 50 and 55 logged (with hit counts numbering zero). Is this intentional? I have a number of other bogus talkgroups which leads me to believe I had a poor signal sometime in the past few weeks, so I'm not discounting that either.

Second issue: in the SYS file, on both operations (the Motorola and the MPT1327 monitors), two extra lines of (blank) data are written besides the one with the "real" system info. As well, all (three) lines in the SYS file have an excess RET (^M, 0xd) character at the end; all other files appear to not have this character.

Lastly, the PLN and SYS files have no header line of information like the other files. It's easy for those of us who mess arou.. er I mean edit the files manually to figure out what is what, but for totality's sake, they probably should be present. :)
