Rick said, "I'm just now getting to that (testing scanner control on Windows 9X/ME) plus a few other things."

Any luck adding control of a second voice scanner while running Windows 95? (My fingers are crossed!)

As far as running future feature requests up the flag pole please do consider adding the beloved "*" to the active talkgroup. It helps immensely especially on busy systems.

Lastly, adding an immediate hold option on the active talkgroup like that with Trunker3.8.3. Just hit the "H" key and it's held. Then if you hit the up or down arrows (depending on what direction you what to go ) it toggles between all of the talkgroups on the display so that you can hold a specific talkgroup if something of interest is happening at the moment. Hit the "H" again and the "Hold" is released back to priority set scanning.

Thanks again Rick for all your efforts!!

Hi Dennis;

We're working on it.

Meanwhile ... play with this:

From the main menu, select [F]ind. Use up/down arrows to browse active calls.

Press F3 (group hold) or F4 (radio hold) to hold on a call.

So are there other little hidden tricks like this that you can pass along? What's the best place to look for these hidden things?

The documentation ... well, that's where it should be. I just looked and those keys are not mentioned. I need to do another edit / update.

Volume and squelch for the PCR100/PCR1000.

The '996 and '396 are now set to "auto" modulation so that P25 voice can be decoded.

So does this mean that if I re-download the 10th beta that these issues are resolved now? I ask because I am running the 10th beta, and they are broken. You quote was a lil vague.

Thanks for pointing that out. You'll need the next release which isn't available just yet.

since 3th unitrunker version , french people is asking for the "ignore sync bit" parameter in MPT1327 decoder .

That would be nice , because unitrunker has a very good affiation log

Thanks again

If you can send me an MP3 recording of the control channel with non-standard sync bits - I can add this feature to the program. The MP3 fiche would allow me to test the program.

I am using a Uniden 245xlt with a discriminator tap for Unitrunker. It decodes the 800MHz and 900MHz analog systems no problem, however I'm receiving the cc for a 9600 P-25 Digital 800MHz system and it won't even show a signal. (The signal is getting in to the computer, I confirmed it with the uniscope) Do I need a discriminator tap on a digital scanner to get this system?

No, any radio with an FM discriminator and appropriate bandwidth filtering will work fine. However, having a properly balance signal match between radio and computer sound input is more critical with the P25 waveform.

What does UniScope show?

I have a screenshot of Uniscope with the P-25 signal but I can't get it to paste into here. Can someone tell me how to do it?

Look for the "PrtSc" key on your keyboard.

Pressing [PrtSc] makes a copy of the whole screen. The image is placed on your clipboard (which you normally can't see directly).

Pressing [Alt] + [PrtSc] makes a copy of the active program window (preferred) - placed on your clipboard.

After making a copy ... run an image program like Paint. Select [E]dit -> [P]aste (or type [Ctrl] + [V]).

Save the file in a compressed format like JPEG or PNG.

Is there a way to set an entire range of USERS to one color without going to INSERT on every USER? I have been deciphering a new system, and it would be easier to just mark users 34000-35000 to red text in one fell swoop, rather than changing them individually when they are found.

I edit the .ctl file with wordpad and use the "replace" function. I would recommend that you do it one of two ways. Either way, make a back up copy first.

One way is to set the cursor at the first line to be changed and using the EDIT, REPLACE function, change one line at a time (DON'T CHOOSE REPLACE ALL!!)

The second way (perhaps safer) would be to open the .ctl file in Wordpad. Cut the part that you want to change and paste it into a new file (just temporarily). Then use the EDIT, REPLACE function, this time use the REPLACE ALL choice. Then cut and paste the changed text back into the .ctl file.

I have a copy of the screenshot from Uniscope, but still can't get it to paste into here. Anyway, the 9600 signal looks as good as the other systems I'm receiving, and decoding without a problem (including a 800MHz 3600 baud Digital system) but Unitrunker still won't decode it. Anybody else have any luck with one of these 800MHz 9600 baud digital systems? I'm not really sure what a good signal looks like and have no idea how to make a filter, but Unitrunker works great on all the other systems I'm receiving. I'm using a Pro2096 to listen to this system and it decodes it without a problem, showing a signal of about 90%.

I have two P25 systems in my area that I'm playing around with ... one is an 800Mhz system that is somewhat weak but decoding at nearly 100% ... the other is a 380Mhz system which is strong at my location but the decode rate is 20-30%... here is a link to a discussion I had with Rick recently about it...
