How to listen to Utah Communications Authority traffic with Unitrunker

How well I know. I have a cousin that moved from West Jordan PD to the new Taylorsville PD, so I'm trying to get with him to figure out his new RID.

The dispatch RIDs are easy to figure out via the number of hits in Unitrunker.

Right now I'm just looking for a starting point, in order to enjoy the hobby better.

I have been using Unitrunker V1 to decode the control channels of 2 local P25 Phase II systems (LDS & HAFB) with no trouble. For listening I use TRX-1 &/or 2, and an SDS100.

I'm not sure on someone those if they are all phase 2, some are either mixed or phase 1. When I was in slc I picked up LDS and HAFB on my HP1 as well as Kennecott...

Mixed Phase 1 and Phase II? HAFB updated their system a couple/few years ago. It started out as Phase II, then after a few months, it changed to Phase I. LDS system is still Phase II. Not much traffic on it now, with all the construction going on at Temple Square.
