I talk to whistler (Brian) and he told me when you have problems with new firmware they give you older firmware to resolve the problems.
And i update the scanner with the last firmware and i have no problem at all i use win10 creators update.

As I've stated earlier today; updating the definitions to the latest DOES NOT currently fix the issue; I just checked again at 01:00 ET on 11/01/2017 and it's still flagged; whereas the TRX-2 application is fine. I'd highly recommend against flagging this as an exception and I feel that Whistler needs to address this issue. At the moment, I cannot program the TRX-1 via computer; simply stupid in this day and age; there is no reason their application should b e getting flagged if they are deploying software through proper processes...

Get rid of Defender and try IObits Malware Fighter that is free to use. It doesn't bog down the computer,
detects all proper viruses in realtime, have ransomware protection, and no false positives.

Antivirus softwares checkes the operation of a program and if the program tries to change a file that
belongs to the window system it detects that as a virus. Defender seems to be not so reliable of doing this the correct way.

Not sure if there is an issue of not; however, the latest version of the TRX-1 Ez-Scan software was flagged by Microsoft Security and removed, they say it contains the following: "Trojan:Win32/Azden.B!cl" and was labeled as severe and remove from my Windows 10 PC as of 5:00pm ET today. Anyone else see or have this same issue? I tested this on two clean Windows 10 VM's as well and in both instances, Windows Security Center kills the application and removes the .EXE

For what it's worth, they haven't flagged the TRX-2 version, I have that installed as well.

Windows removed my Trx-1.exe too.

Did you try adding exceptions for the install exe and the program? Worked for me as a temporary work-around.

Seems to have been fixed sometime overnight after 01:00 ET at least. With that said, there is no reason to dump the built in security suite that comes with Windows 10 for some third party option; I use to think so, but after carefully testing several clients, I saw no real advantage of purchasing someone else's product anymore; with almost 20 years in the information technologies industry, it was very hard for me to say this, especially with Microsoft; however, it's a fact. Point-in-case, look at the recent issues surrounding the Federal government and Kaspersky products; and they are not alone, just look at who owns a chunk of the security software available for PC's these days; many companies from outside the U.S. and their not all friendly neighbors either... Anyway, it seems that the TRX-1 software is happy again under Windows 10 so issue has been resolved, at least for me without making it an exception; I would NEVER EVER consider that as an option on a primary PC; maybe an isolated virtual machine, but NEVER on a PC used for banking, personal information, etc.

Hello, can you add in the next firmware the possibility to choose the step in the bands (step) because in VHF I would like the 12.5 Khz?

Sorry for my English: send with a translator

Maybe the UK band plan would be better for you than the US one you're probably using.

I agree - it would be nice to have a band plan edit function in the software
then users outside of the US can taylor there scanner to suit their area
of operation

It could be a patent thing. Uniden holds many patents and Whistler holds others and they are reluctant to use each others patent. One reason is that they have to pay licences for each scanner sold and that will reveal how many scanners they sell.

That's one reason why there will never be a perfect scanner made.

The best solution would be to sell a scanner that has open source software so a community of users can build and add functions as they please, as individuals don't have to follow any patent rules.

Just look at that super cheap TYT MD380 DMR radio that have evolved to became the most advanced tier1 DMR radio there is, due to the work of individuals that develop new functions to it. TYT are selling much more radios than they expected because of this, so there is no loss to them that the software was made public.

According to Don, it's not a patent issue. Many have written in to Whistler about user programable step size and mode...

No problems here, been using them for 3 years now. I don't seem to recall Whistler going through multiple recalls for multiple defects either.

I don't recall Uniden offering NXDN either....
