Usage Question!

Quick question;

I know there are multiple interop type channels available in this state:
STOCS, CSPERN,INTEROP, FIRE MUTUAL AID. My question is, are all these still active or in use? With the ongoing constant switch over to the CLMRN system, I wonder if any of the ones I mentioned have been abandoned or no longer in use. I am thinking of putting them in my APX8K (RX only) but don't want to put the time into the CPS if any are no longer in use. Those of you with Moto programming experience know what a pain programming large amounts of frequencies can be. Any information will be appreciated. I am interested mainly in NHVN and FFLD counties.

STOCS is primarily an extended incident on scene tactical interop solution. It is rarely used and when used it is low power. Much of the I/O radio chatter, not all, but much of it, now exists on CLMRN.

The 45.86 Hotline frequency was rocking and rolling yesterday (4/25) with a large volume of interdepartmental commos for BOLOs, "Wants" in progress., CSP requesting the locals for their "services" at collision sites, etc.
Most active: Hartford (Troop H) and New Haven (Multiple Depts. and Troop G)

I believe,,, that 6a is the New Haven County (Is there such a thing) wide test. Each department in New Haven County acknowledges the "roll call" conducted by CSP Troop I.
Some of the acknowledgments are, on occasion, quite amusing.
Been there and done that many moons ago.......

Nothing like having an ancient Motorola low band single channel monitor for 45.86. Pulls in signals like mad!

Wow, ok then. I am so used to departments switching over to CLMRN that I did not figure they would keep the low band analog stuff going. Good to know...

I love the Plectron, I still have on for 46.10 ... but that is a one way communications device. In public safety, it is really hard to rely on 30+ year old radios. I have a few MT1000 / P200 radios I keep in service, but finding new antennas is a challenge. Getting new batteries is very challenging. Finding new knobs as they get lost is damn near impossible.

I suppose the low power explains why I can hear the STOCS frequencies keying up but nothing but dead air here in Litchfield County. I've never heard any actual traffic.

STOCS needs to be set up on site with a STOCS box, so they are not regularly in use. The last time STOCS was used in New London County was probably more than 5 years ago.
