Call uniden and order a replacement. It looks like the cable just snaps into the PCB no soldering required.Where would I find the replacement connector?

Maybe he had the ‘original’ telescoping antenna on it, and forgot that to remove a BNC connection, you gave it a gentle push in and then turning the outer sleeve. So maybe tried to remove it by “unscrewing” it, and when it did not unscrew, he clamped down with a pair of pliers trying to twist it off, with the excess force breaking of the pins on the antenna connection on the scanner.I am baffled on how the pins got broken off. Nothing looks dented or out of sorts with the connector except the pins are gone
You mean the center pin of the connector that is soldered to the circuit board? If I do that with a paper clip on a local channel will it show reception bars in the display? My guess are that the original owner used another type of antenna connector that needed the studs of the scanners BNC connector to be removed, maybe a TNC connector. Uniden might have the micro MCX connector with coax and BNC as a replacement. It might have damaged the center pin connection so look straight into the BNC conenctor and take a picture as well.
Tune the scanner to your local FM broadcast station, Channel+Frequency+Channel and do the suggested test to pull the coax from the circuit board and touch a wire or paperclip to the MCX connectors middle pin with squelch open to hear the noise and it should be some sort of reception. In Sentinel do "Clear User Data" on the SD card to restore all settings to default.

Replacing BCD536HP antenna connector
Back in 10/2015 I discovered the BNC antenna connector was intermittent. This was caused by me when I first hooked up the scanner I hooked up the antenna feed line, Belden 9913, directly to the scanner. Also contributing to the problem is that every time there are any thunderstorms forecast I...forums.radioreference.com

Yes, that is correct. If you see signal bars, the receiver is working and the problem is with the BNC connector assembly. You mean the center pin of the connector that is soldered to the circuit board? If I do that with a paper clip on a local channel will it show reception bars in the display?

Because a previous member asked for a pic of the BNC on the back of the unit. I unplugged the cable and tried center conductor with a paper clip on local channel that was active on my other scanner. Nothing receivedWhy are you showing the back of the scanner. You unplug the antenna connection inside the scanner and touch the clip to the center of the connector soldered on the circuit board inside the scanner.
Did you check for a short between the center conductor and ground?Tested the antenna connection bnc to connector to board. Center conductor OK and ground OK. nothing seems comprimised
1000 ohms center to ground when the rear BNC when it is connected to the main board. When I had the connector off the board there was no continuity between center & groundDid you check for a short between the center conductor and ground?
rangers38--That's their FLAT RATE, regardless of what needs to be done.NJ Here. Is it a flat rate of 90 for whatever is wrong? or to replace the connector?
I am unsure if the unit got damaged from being dropped. Some commentors on here thought that may have caused the antenna bnc issue, but I don't know. I am unsure if it's antenna related as well, other than the studs missing on the BNCrangers38--That's their FLAT RATE, regardless of what needs to be done.
It seems to that there's some internal damage besides the BNC connector being damaged as it took a hard hit to get like that.
I believe it has to be shipped to Irving, Texas and I'm not sure of the turn-around time. Other members might be familiar of the time frame on repairs.
Have a good Fall.
rangers38: You cannot use it with the studs missing as the antenna won't be secured tightly. So, your only choice is to send it into Uniden and pay $90 and they will replace whatever it needs.I am unsure if the unit got damaged from being dropped. That checks out to be fine. As most of the front end components are covered in epoxy it needs to go to Uniden and they will swap out the whole board as it probably costs them $50 and spending time on it to do fault tracing costs a lot more.1000 ohms center to ground when the rear BNC when it is connected to the main board.
