Up in post # 4, investigator16 sed:

The BIG switch... Norfolk is not far behind. Almost all their radio's have been reprogrammed also.

That's what I'm trying to figgr out. Are they dumping their old system and going over to ORION?

I see Norfolk has some talkgroups listed under ORION.

When Norfolk goes P25 they will not be on the Orion system they will have their own.

I just updated my scanner - found I needed to make a lot of updates. For Va Beach - I'm finding that most of the hits are on the Orion system for just about everything, though I've left the original system in place.

I'm using a Pro-106 and have not had any issues with audio. I'm in Kempsville closer to the Norfolk line.

I forgot to say - STARS - what a pain to program. For some reason I'm limited to 32 frequencies in an object......

That's one of the downsides of the PSR-500/PRO-106. Unlike the Uniden's BCD396XT, you're limited to 32 frequencies per system.

Plus the Bearcat has the ability to turn off groups with the touch of a number button. Have not figured out how to do that with my Pro 197. I miss that feature.

No VB Orion traffic today ???

Been home from work for an hour or so and haven't heard a peep from any of Virginia Beaches newly assigned ORION units.

I just turned my scanner on and the first thing that came on was Orion and fire. I've got police now as well.

What I did was use Win500 and used the radioreference database link to load the Orion system in to my scanner, a Pro-106. I selected all available frequencies. I have 5 700 MHz frequencies and 4 800 MHz frequencies.

Did you enter the 800 frequencies under Virginia Beach site 102

Using EZ Scan Digital I had downloaded the latest RR database and all was fine on Tuesday with the new Virginia Beach ORION (though all were coming up as 'WildCard' ). Nothing was changed, but now not seeing any traffic on the ORION system.

Have both the Virginia Beach 101 (700 Freqs) and 102 (800 Freqs) loaded.

Just got home about 30 minutes ago and been watching, but still no ORION.

Curious though as to why unlike TOJOHNSO I am only showing 7 700 Freqs? Unless he is counting the one that loads for York Co.

I was in the Va Beach section and selected Orion. I pulled in all talk groups. The frequencies I have as part of the system are:

773.531250
773.806250
774.081250
774.331250
859.462500
859.712500
860.462500
860.712500
775.531250

Is that what you have?

I'm still hearing a bunch of stuff on Orion - how is it that you are not? You didn't lock them out somehow did you?

Have checked and rechecked everything and do not see any reason they should have stopped working.
May try reloading to see if that does not do it as I am out of ideas.

The new and old dispatch talkgroups are patched but it's temporary.

Just thought it was strange. The Fire Tac channels are the only ones that are not active anymore.
