Silent Key - Aug 2014
Okay, I am on vacation right now and have come upon an APCO-25 system (which I will add when I get back) but there is a little problem.
The system is apparently at the Ellsworth AFB outside of Rapid City, SD and running Pro96Com on the CC I get the maping channels, etc. It is using one CC and an alternate. Using 5 tables; however, all the tables have a base of 136.000 and use 12.5 KHz spacing. The 5 tables is so they can configure the input channels. In any case the problem is not really related to that. The system is not-encrypted. All voice channels can be heard in manual mode, but when in scan mode the Pro-96 will not even attempt to track. It acts as if it does not even recognize that it is listening to a CC. Running Pro96Com (as well as listening in manual mode) show this system to be pretty busy. So it is not lack of activity. I have tried to get it to track in both custom table and multi-table modes; however, as I said, the Pro-96 acts as if it is not even listening to a CC, no indication of any recognition of it being on a system at all.
I do have it programmed correctly. It has worked in the past on 9600bps system (although it was 800Mhz in both cases). Is there something I am missing here or is there is something about VHF APCO-25 systems I am not seeing. I will not be here long, so if anyone has any ideas I will check back later to see if anyone has an idea. We will only be here one more day so any ideas will be apprecitated. :?
