I am a feed provider and wanted to control the BCD996P2 and monitor the audio over the Internet. The problem was that RadioFeed ( using channel tags) and ProScan both wanted to use the one com port I have available. So I could not do both at the same time. The solution was very simple. Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO is a vertual com port driver that allows you to share one com port with more than one device or program. It is very simple to use but filled with features. I can now connect to ProScan over IP and controll the scanner plus monitor the audio using ProScan client and still have channel tags. When I add a second scanner all I have to do is generate more virtual com ports and connect the scanner. I am writing this in case I can help someone with this problem. If you find this helpful post a comment.

Disclaimer: I am not employed nor have any connections with Eltima Software, the makers of Virtual Serial Port Driver.

Here is the way it looks when it is all done. And a link to the software. I hope this will make it more clear as to how it all works.

Of course this becomes irrelevant on the SDS 200 line. But, could be useful for older models using serial ports.
