I have noticed, most recently yesterday and this AM, that the volume of traffic on the old Moto system has decreased significantly... may actually be coincidental, but it is quite noticeable to me.

I also spoke to a county official yesterday, on an unrelated topic, who mentioned that he was having his radios re-programmed yesterday.

Anyone have any insight as to the status of the switch? Has it already occurred or is it "in process"?

Any info yet on talk groups on the new system?

Warren County Swith to MARCS

Still in the process. There has been no activity on the Warren County MARCS-IP Simulcast site. They only have two people reprogramming radios, so it's a slow process.

Warren co.

As long as fire and ems personnel carry pagers, it should not change. Trunking systems do not affect paging. sometimes simulcasting is done between the two.

The cutover for Warren County to the MARCS-IP system is currently planned for Tuesday May 13th at 10 AM.

Just in time for Hamvention!

Just about all of their news can be found below....

Whenever you "join" the WC8EMA club, the president adds everyone to the county telecom emails.

Lebanon Tower

I noticed the past two days that I haven't even been able to pick up the control frequency off the Lebanon Tower.

I have already added three new talkgroups since the 1015 switchover. The web service that is used by the EZScan software for your PSR800 won't update until this weekend.
If you can't wait you'll need to program them manually.

The reception in the confines of Lebanon is absolutely terrible. However once outside of Lebanon, the reception improves greatly.

In the Landen area, it varies from acceptable to not-so-much.

If I were to assign 10 to the previous system reference reception, I would give the system experience I've had so far a 6.0-6.5 if I were generous...

In your case in Lebanon, does attenuation change your observation?

If you are talking about a Uniden BC346XT, you will not be able to follow the system with that scanner, I believe it is Analog only. The Warren County Simulcast system is a P25 digital system that is part of the larger Ohio MARCS-IP system.

If you are talking about the BCD396XT, you only need to enter the control channel. ( You also may want to enter the alternate CC).

How well the 396XT performs on the Warren Co Simulcast may be problematic. I know when the local systems switched over to the Greene Co Simulcast system last Nov/Dec, I had marginal performance with my 996XT and my HomePatrol-1; I had some improvement with use of a directional antenna. But I'm most satisfied with the new BCD436XT.

Can you re-check Lebanon FD - that is the same TG Number as the County Dispatch Channel.
