I take it you ran pro96com on the 9600 this am?? Did you do any listening?

There have been no channel grants over the last 1.5 hours that I've been running Pro96Com. I'm up to 7 radios and 2 talkgroups at this point, all based on the one voice grant on Friday, and affiliations today.
I'm logging what I get, but not much activity so far. What I'm seeing now reminds me a lot of what I was seeing during the programming phase on the Detroit system. Lots of affiliations, and few transmissions. Although when listening on Detroit, there were a few voice grants with "Testing... Testing OK" type transmissions.

In the last hour I've gotten 2 Affiliates both TG 310 Radios 10108740 and 10108519 but have not heard anything. I have the pro-96 on procom and the 796 logging traffic. Have not heard anything. The radios are only affiliating for a few secondsmikey60 said:

I have a BCD396, and have been doing an ID SEARCH for the Warren P25 system. I am still not quite sure what I am looking at, however, what I have heard this afternoon consists of alot of "testing 1,2 ", type messages. On the scanner I have seen the following:

I am not sure how that relates to the actual parameters used to program the Talk Groups, etc.
I live in the 11 and Van Dyke area, so I am pretty close to the main tower.
As far as the quality, it seems there is always some low level trash in the signal, it doesn't sound to me like static, just trash. Also, on some occaisions, it sounded as if the voice were in an echo chamber. In general the messages were intelligible, but not always the greatest quality.

The Echo is usually another radio in the background being picked up. Digital radio generally has some level of delay between transmission and reception due to the encoding/decoding/and transmission of the digital signal.

I saw most of those TG's patched today doing testing - the ones bolded are PC lookes like Warren DPW bosses- those radios are old ones - the newer ones have higher numbers - those numbers look like the one supt that is always crying about no one will work or every other dept is using up his budget. Heard the echo transmissions - sounded like they were in the dispatch center and heard techs testing with them also
I think your low level trash is background noise from not using headsets - they sound like they are using portable radios in dispatch.

They kept 5 radios affiliated for a while and were doing testing to see which position would receive them - also tested the EMG button when the TG was busy to see if they received the EMG signal when there was no voice signal because of a busy condition

Warren FD is now doing grid testing on the new system.

Mostly TG 222, but a lot of others all patched to 222. The 796 shows 222 but win96com shows a lot of others all patched. They do the testing during the day till 1600 - I miss the first half since I don't get up till 1100 - just before they go to lunch.Thunderbolt said:

The new Warren system may be comming online. Heard traffic on TG 426. Sounded like DPW?

The new simulcast system for Warren, MI. Public Safety is booming in, loud, and clear on the MPSCS system this morning!

That is the City of Warren NOT MPSCS. Two different systems. Warren is system ID 19a, MPSCS is system id 796. I've heard them for the last 2 days, looks like they only have City Services on it now.MacombMonitor said:

I did hear what sounded like a couple of police officers attempting to use the radio, complaining that they had no training.
Did I read right somewhere, that eventually they will be linked into MPSCS somehow?

I have not heard PD/FD dispatch yet, but have heard a couple of PD trying to call it. only showing one voice channel so far, and only City services. I've ID two Tg's so far

I have a feeling over the next several days, you will probably start hearing a lot more activity on this system, especially if they are adding city services to the system. Last night I was able to monitor the Warren P-25 system from here in Ann Arbor, but there was no activity on it. Hopefully, the FD and PD will be on there soon.

There is nothing after 1700 on the system now. I've only heard city services so far and a couple others trying to use their radios. The only dispatch I've heard are city services no PD or FD. pro96com is only showing one voice channel at this time. Have not heard DPW or Water Dept either. Only TG's 418, 422 and 426. I'm getting a lot of deny responce on I-Calls.
