170.150 is used in the Oklahoma City are by KOCO-TV, and has exciting communications that consist mostly of transmissions like this:

"78....83.....92....83.... go back..... 92.... lock it down"

The numbers are a signal strength reading as microwave units are tuned in. Usually, the higher number the better.

It is a simplex base transmitter

Most of the mobiles are 45 watt Kenwoods.

Well, before they went trunked, it was the Philadelphia Fire Dept's "Rescue Band". :p

Note, too, that there are no Police, Fire, etc, bands any more. They're all lumped into Public Safety. This includes things like the old Conservation Radio Service et al, which is how all those new VHF freqs opened up (151.xxx, 159.xxx, etc).

170.1500 was always in the "Press Radio Service" or whatever it used to be called. I think it's now just "Business".

Just shows to go ya that you have to search *everywhere* these days!

You would think that if someone or (a company) would get a FCC licence to use a freq they would use if more often, here in OKC im not sure what this freq is used for but from the very little stuff i hear its (like) a police freq because i heard some sort of ''tag running''
like cops do, you know the usual ...........Victor, Ocean, 395 ...whatever stuff on it

I hope that made sence

Also not to change the subj, ...on some local analog conventional freq for the police why do i hear every so often MORSE CODE ??? is that some sort of signal that is being sent?

If the cop is supposed to understand morse code, dont you think thats a little crazy if hes in a high speed chase or something
" beep beeeeeep beep beeep beep beeeeeeep .....Cop:eek:h yeah i really want to hear a bunch of freaking beeps right now im trying to stay on this corvettes a**...lol Jk
But some one please explain
