What's the deal? Grundig Satellit 750 is now a Tecsun S-2200X?

And I'm sure you can find reviews using Google for some of the folks that aren't forum members. It looks like a decent radio - the sync issue that all Tecsuns have after the PL660i notwithstanding- and yes it has a few issues, but what radio doesn't?

An old receiver updated with a new company badge? An OEM manufacturer too cheap to redesign a case? What's the story here?

I have owned the Grundig 750 version for quite a few years. Within the past month or two, Jay at radiojayallen.com did a review of the new Tecsun S2200X, saying "This is not the first time Tecsun has put a entirely new radio into an existing cabinet…the new S-2200X performs at a much higher level than the old model in almost every way and I’ll describe this in detail." Most (all?) posts on this thread come from people who haven't used, or have even seen in-person, the new S2200X. Thus far, these posts contain comments about what people "think" that the SX2200 might be, but Jay has had actual "hands-on" experience with this receiver, so I give his assessment much more credibility than anything posted here. I'm not defending/promoting the radio...just pointing to a real-world, hands-on experiential evaluation. I won't comment on the SX2200 price compared to other receivers, but it might be worth it to me, if for no other reason than I really like the Satellite 750/SXX2200's form factor.

I’ve searched YouTube and there aren’t all that many reviews of this radio yet. The ones there are, they seem to like it, but they’re not thrilled.
