KHP is still in the clear as are some other PD's like Chase County, Morris County and a couple of others. Has anybody heard anything? KHP is about all I can get these days and if they go encrypted there will be next to nothing to listen to (I am in Emporia BTW).

Anybody have any info?

They are not encrypting their main channels. To meet the FBI requirements, they are activating secondary encrypted talkgroups to run names/DOB's etc. These have been assigned but not sure when they will be added to trooper radios.
It is in the radios, waiting on order to use it.

Heard KHP Wichita tell a trooper yesterday to go to "Troop F Info" to run someobody, so they must be in use now.

I've been hearing them say F-info for about two or three weeks now. A few days ago they were looking for someone, and one supervisor said to go to F-KHP-Info 2.

They're definitely all using the new Info talk groups Patrol wide. I started hearing G-KHP-1 have Troopers switch to Info about two weeks ago. The A-KHP-INFO talk group has also been pretty active lately. Some Troopers are still running DLs or tags on the clear talk group and being told to switch to Info. for the return.

Just a heads up "G-KHP-1" is actually called "KTA-SOUTH" on the state radio template. I had it as "G-KHP" in my radio for years until I made the connection.

Is that TG 422?
Nope, it's TG419, AKA: "DISPATCH" on the RR DB is "KTA-SOUTH" on the state template.

TG1306, AKA: "Turnpike North" on the RR DB is "KTA-NORTH" on the state template. But as far as I know, is never or very rarely used.

Thank you, Ironically I was updating my Troop G list for a trip to OKC later this week when you posted this.

It was-- as of the latest LE template sent by the state at the end of 2024, 419 has been renamed G-KHP-1. The same is showing on the spreadsheets the state sends listing all TGs on KSICS (along with Troop A-K Info TGs). KTA-South is what they now have named maintenance (422).
