Born and raised in the central ward of Newark. Started monitorins during the riots using a RS tunable receiver. (NPD 154.16 mhz) Currently living in East Brunswick , Middlesex county. Frequent trips to Toms River. Monitor Troop C, Union, Middlesex and Monmouth Counties pd/fd/ems and Ocean County on the road. I used to monitor the Traffic helicopters when I was a commuter.

I've been living in West New York for about 2.5 years. I just bought my first scanner, a little Icom IC-R5 about a week ago. I figured with all the fire/ems/maritime/aviation traffic going by along the Hudson river I would have some interesting radio listening. Somewhat steep learning curve, but so far so good. (electrical engineering background finally comes in useful!)

I was born and raised in South Philly but have lived in Voorhees Twp, NJ for approx. 16 years. I have been in the scanning hobby since about 12 years old.

I am the editor of the Philadelphia Area Communications Guide and owner of the Philly Scanner Yahoo discussion group. Started with my South Jersey Scanner web page in 1996.

Specific scanner related acomplishments: created the South Jersey and Philly scanner web sites, Philadelphia Area Communications Guide, Philly Scanner Yahoo discussion group; developed first commercially available software package named "E-Trax" to decode and track EDACS systems using the Optocom receiver; developed software to track Multi-Net and Passport trunked systems; developed the data voice conversion method which is documented in the RR Wiki; and assisted in testing TrunkTrac software (the predecessor of the current Uniden Motorola trunking logic). Also beta tested several Uniden scanners.

Professionally I am a CPA and IT Auditor. I graduated from Temple University. I also am a volunteer with Cherry Hill OEM.

Born & raised in Bound Brook (i.e. - constipated creek!), and I now live in Branchburg with my wife.

Involved in scanning since 1991, and I've been a ham since 1997. I was a FF/EMT for almost 10 years in Bridgewater, then Bound Brook, & finally Edison Squad-1.

I'm currently the VP of the Raritan Valley Radio Club, and I work as a privately-employed alarm technician for the largest retail company in the world (I'll let you guys figure that out for yourselves! )

1st.radio'Realistic Patrolman' VHF High-band tuner WITHOUT A SQUELCH!!.Payed $20.new back in 1966.Try tuning Jersey City FD.on the old VHF frequency:162.???
I survived 22 yrs in Jersey City,before moveing to Sussex County.I gave up my Scott Pack 14 years ago,for a stethoscope.And my back feels great.
Hopefully I'll be moveing to T'River(yup another BENNY) one of these years.

Now, I live in East Brunswick and monitor north to Essex , and south to Ocean counties, mostlt PD, FD and EMS. When I was a commuter I listened to Troops B & C and the traffic helicopters.

If you plan on moving down here, leave your scanners at home. Haha, 95% of Toms River PD is totally encrypted. Sure there is a lot more to listen to here, like the Seasides in summer, but nothing beat listening to the town you live in.

Lived in Dover Twp. (now Toms River Township), Ocean County for most of my life (30 years). I work in Lacey Twp. I have been monitoring Dover Twp Police for at least 10 years, until recently when they switched to encryped digital, so now I mostly monitor Lacey PD, as well as Lakewood PD, Brick PD, NJSP, & the Ocean County TRS.

I worked as a dispatcher for the Freehold Police Dept & lived in Freehold for several years. Monitored Freehold (twp & boro) , Wall, Marlboro, Manalapan & surrounding areas in Monmouth County when I lived there.

I live near John, and have the same problems with these darn mountains!!!
I listen to mainly fire in Warren, Hunterdon in NJ, and Northampton County in PA.
I do follow EMS and Police in my area of Warren County. I also started listening to Train communications.
