Where to buy your BCD996T Scanner, How much delivered and did you get it yet?

Little box dancing around in a big box. Good for you me and the distributor that Uniden packs it REAL well!

Whoever designed the packing arrangment had a college degree or at least is a MENSA member.

Well like said in a few post back ordered mine yesterday from Communications Electronics and paid the +30 for 2nd day. They reported it would ship on Wed 6/7/06 when they took the order over the phone. No email yet, called this morn 10:30 EST for order number, tracking number and status. Reported would call back in 1:30 hours. No phone call, so I called. No word on status yet he said, but would call me as soon as he knew.

They are very friendly, but does not seem to be very automated. Not sure why he can't look up the status, but has to call someone to ask them to find the status. Anyway, just a word of caution about Communications Electronics .

They called me on 6/1 (thursday) to ask me if I still wanted the 2nd day air , since over the weekend , it would prod arrive the same time as UPS ground. I decided to save the $30 and said to ship it ground, I was surprised they called about that, very good customer service. Shipped 6/1, arrived 6/2 !!!! ON UPS GROUND,,, at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!

That is the reason why when I place orders, i ask what warehouse it's coming out of, and then i check it against the UPS Ground Maps. If it shows within a day or two on the maps, it's a waste of money to have it shipped overnight as ground would accomplish the same outcome.

I got mine yesterday at HamCom, the DFW Texas area hamfest, for $500 plus local sales tax. The HamStation had quite a good setup. Lots of gear at good prices. No wait for shipping!

I have such a wonderful wife! She ordered mine for Father's Day for me, but my children couldn't keep a secret, so I already have it.
She ordered mine from USAscan.com on Wednesday June 7th in the afternoon, it was at the house before noon on Thursday the 8th. Total of $519.95

She said they were awesome, took care of everything she asked for.

Hi "rdwilson", if I'm not asking for too much, can you give me please some info about the location of the place, the hamfest, you bought the scanner from? It is just a temporary place (for just a short limited time) or a permanent place, what's the address, did they have the scanner when you got there or you called them in advance and you had to wait until it got there, how much is sales tax in DFW Texas area? I'll be in that area in about a month and, if lucky, I wanna get one (996T)...

I'd think about ordering from them if only they didn't refer to the BCD996T as a handheld scanner on their main webpage. Who's minding the store?
