I have signed up for whistler news up updates but have received nothing. On a happy note I see updates to software and firmware are now available on their site.

Maybe because there've been none? The company just changed hands, relax & give it some time. Follow this forum for news & updates

The fact that there are updates and downloads available is note worthy and warrants an email, it shows support for the existing customers IMHO

Updates can be done through EZ Scan, and if you have it set to auto-check for updates there is no need for an email. I wish my computer manufacturer sent emails when drivers/bios/etc were updated, but now a days that's not how most companies work.
