If you are referring specifically to trunking by monitoring the control channel, that may be a different story.
It is.

I second the motion!!
At this point I am the only one to ask any question regarding NXDN. So it would only be a logical assumption you are referring to me. I thought my question was very clear and precise, "Will the new radios trunk NXDN"? Not very complicated. I do apologize for missing the announcement that the TRX 2 supports the trunking of NXDN. Now that I know that, my question certainly rises to the level of being silly.....
The TRX-1/TRX-2 have had NXDN for some time. If you are referring specifically to trunking by monitoring the control channel, that may be a different story. But lots of people are certainly monitoring trunked systems with TRXs. I have one myself.
I'm not sure if any of the older generation Whistlers support NXDN though.

Any average release dates known or specified?
Well let's see...
This is from the very first post in this thread...
The TRX-100 and TRX-200 will begin shipping in Q4 2018.
So I'm taking a wild guess of Q4 2018...but I could be wrong.
Let the arms race begin!
I'm sure I will purchase the TRX-100 in addition to the SDS-100. By the way, some of you people act as if every public government agency and private company in the U.S. are all going to NXDN. Really? NXDN should be renamed to YAWN.
ProVoice is a feature of EDACS systems, which are being phased out. I can understand why a scanner manufacturer would not invest in that capability at this late date - over the next few years, fewer and fewer customers would benefit. In contrast, more and more communities are installing P25 Phase 2 Simulcast systems.
I think if NXDN trunking was supported, it would likely be in the announcement, since that would be an additional feature that the current Whistler scanners do not have.
