WS1010- $140 vs PRO-649- $100
WS1025- $140 vs PRO-650- $100

WS1040- $600 vs PRO-651- $400
WS1065- $600 vs PRO-652- $400

As far as I can tell, aren't the Whistler models identical spec-wise to the Radio Shack ones? If this is the case, why the outrageous price difference? What's so special about the Whistler models???

As far as the 1040, and the 1065.... The Whistler models include the serial/USB programming cable, (and in the case of the WS1040 the AC adaptor is also included) where the Radio Shack equivalents do not. (Check the "in the box" tab at Radio Shack)

Same as GRE vs Radio Shack used to be.

Besides, check the prices at Universal Radio for those 2 models... $399.95:

The Whistler WS-1040 & WS-1065 are going for $400-$500 on eBay. The $600 pricetag is not common from what i've seen.

I certainly would not pay that much ($600) for a P25 Phase I scanner.
