Yep, a generic LLC with no real ownership info. Anyone want to try and order something from the generic cookie cutter web store and see how fast your CC gets charged from China, Senegal or India?

The fact that they bought the company is interesting ! And I hope they are going to legitimately do something with whistler scanners instead of pissing in the wind ? But why buy a company if you're not going to do anything with it ?

Lets give them a chance and see where they go and what they offer. Both products and services.
If I remember correctly, Escort Radar Detectors came from Ohio.

Fuzzbusters were made here in Ohio also basically the First Radar Detectors (readily available ones anyway)

I met a guy at IWCE who bought the rights to the "Nextel" brand from Sprint. For $350. He was reselling PTToC with Chinese radios. He got the yellow banner, stylized logo and all IP rights associated with it . Anyone can buy scraps left over from a failing or failed private company. Being that Whistler was a private company, the details of the actual sale aren't public. The owner(s) may have seen brand value in the name. But at this point, that is all it is.

In this day and age where financial fraudsters run rampant with little to no prosecution or adult supervision, I am not easily gaslit just because someone turns up a generic website with old product images and vague text.

So we shall see.

Out of curiosity I went through the entire checkout process to purchase a TRX-2 to see how well the "new" website was currently working. I added the TRX-2 to my cart at $659.99 and then added all of my customer and shipping information. There were two choices for shipping which were FREE Economy (5-8 business days) or $6.90 Standard (3-4 business days). YMMV as I don't know if the shipping rates are the same for everybody or if they are based on your shipping zip code.

I couldn't complete the purchase because when I got to Payment ("All transactions are secure and encrypted.") it said "This store can’t accept payments right now." FWIW

I would not be giving any unknown site any personal identifying information, let alone credit card/bank info. One is just asking for it. Would one just go out and write this on a piece of paper and leave it in a mall food court? Or a park? Why do people do this on the Internet? Just because someone bought a name? Wow. Some folks like to live dangerously.

If your post #29 was in response to my post #28 above, I had absolutely no intention of actually purchasing a TRX-2 or giving them my credit card/banking information. It was simply a test to see if their "new" website was fully functional to process orders and payments at this time. From the information I posted above, they cannot process payments at this time and it makes no mention on their checkout page as to when they will be able to do so.

If I remember correctly that guy "bought" it from a guy that said Sprint abandoned the name and he just took it over and sold licenses to use the Nextel name. Pretty sure Sprint disagreed and it went to court (or the trademark court or whatever it's called).

That's the guy. That was back in 2017, at IWCE. I figured T-MoSprintNextel would want their golden child egg back.

It's interesting just to follow the path of who "owns" the IP. GRE, Whistler, Goliad, K&P STATUTORY AGENT..... No one since GRE has done any development. That is what is needed and is an expensive endeavor. Otherwise this just seems like another entity trying to milk whatever they can from the remains of GRE.

I really like the WS1065 I've got! I did have to put a chip in it but it's been great the last few years. I think it has the best receive of all my scanners!

They can't be serious with those sky-high prices listed on their website for those old Whistlers scanners. They are all +10 years old now! If they cut the prices by 50%, I might be interested in buying something.

No one is twisting your arm, prices are what they are,if no one buys maybe they'll go down, but I doubt it. It is almost like the used BC125AT on sale in the classifieds priced higher than a new one on Amazon.

That's my point, no one will buy them.
