Last Saturday I ordered a Scratch and Dent WS1098 scanner from Whistler's website. Detachable faceplate, P25 P1 & 2, DMR, nice base for $260 delivered.

Just arrived today, I already have the TRX-1 and a modified PRO-668 handhelds, so I was used to the EZ Scan software. Looks brand new, no scratches and no dents. Took 10 minutes to upgrade the firmware, another 5 minutes for the DSP, and less to load the configuration onto the SD card. Works great!!! @Whistler_Support thanks for the fast delivery and excellent product.

Is whistler still doing the upgrades on the Pro-668? And if anyone has had a 668 upgraded, do you see an improvement in P25, phase 2, and simulcast?

Yes they are, and when I got mine done there was improvements all across the board with reception and battery usage

I had the RS model and the PSR both upgraded. I noticed the biggest difference in the RS, but it was worth it on both scanners

Go for it.
I just received an old PSR800 of mine back that I never sent in. It came back about a week or two ago from getting the upgrade.
Only thing is I never used it that often so I can't honestly say if P25 reception was improved upon or not but DMR mode reception does work well compared to some of my other radios. DMR was the sole reason I went for the upgrade. We have a ton of single channel conventional around here today so the PSR800 seemed like a perfect candidate for that being as it will not be used for any trunked DMR signals here.

Welcome Whistler_Support!

It's always nice to have manufacturer support available right here in the RR forums.
I have just bought a TRX-1; just getting the hang of it and the software. I have two questions so far:
What is 'zeromatic', I can't find an explanation about what it does, the manual mentions it but not what it does.
What is 'deprecated'? I know what the word means, but not in the context of a scanner radio.
Thanks................Derek

@Ubbe gave a great explanation of Zeromatic here ZeroMatic and dwell Settings

As for depreciated channels, they may still be licensed but are no longer in use, usually because the agency has moved to a new/upgraded TRS.

Welcome to Scanning!!!

Zeromatic helps the unit tune to exact frequencies when Searching.
Zeromatic does not have any effect in channel-based searches such as CB, Marine and FRS/GMRS/MURS bands

RR uses the Deprecated tag to indicate that a conventional frequency, trunked talkgroup, or entire trunked system is no longer actively being used.

Whistler_Support, I see you said Whistler is staying in the scanner business, but there not been any firmware or DSP updates to the TRX1 in quite a long time, do you all plan on still supporting this scanner with updates?

I see the Whistler site is having problems again with certificate issues. Same as last time unable to update on EZScan. Any ETA?
