All of a sudden I am getting DISD on 464,1 too. I've had them plugged in all day long, and about five minutes ago is the first time I heard them. They are talking a lot too. Surprisingly, they're coming in a lot clearer in Mansfield than CareFlite ever thought of sounding. I certainly hope this is just a weird temporary skip thing!
As for the off-duty security thing, I'm sure they can. I'd just be really, really surprised if they had take-home cars to do it with.
