To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Yes a friend of mine who is a computer guy just reinstalled the MotoTrbo Drivers folder and set it up, it is on my main screen on my computer as a zip folder and then then the unzipped folder.

Yah I see it there under network device each time I plug the cable in from my 4550 and it says everything is working properly.

So I dunno why it is still not allowing me to read or write to it and the same thing for my other cable that I use for my 6350 portable.

I dunno if there is something else I am missing or it has to do with my windows 10.

A friend of mine had the same issue with one of his computers on windows 10 and that computer guy friend of his did the same thing jusy reinstalled the MotoTrbo Drivers folder and then it worked just fine.
But still not for me.

Hope it's not a big issue here I am having

Have you tried upgrading to TRBOCPS 13.0? That one actually supports Windows 10.

Hello again just letting everyone know I got it working I upgraded to version 13 and that did the trick, so looks like it was version 12.1 that didn't like Windows 10 like other people were saying.

So all good now. Thanks

Just one last question if I can post this here.

Does anyone have a link or whatever that I can go to and download the patch for the 25k spacing. Someone sent me a link a long time ago to the p25.ca site but can't find it anymore. If anyone can ok if not then ok.

Let me know.

Thanks

They haven't made a patch for 13.0. 12.1 was the highest they made a patch for. Another reason not to upgrade if you don't have the EID.

Oh k thought the same patch for 12.1 would work for 13 just download the patch and your good to go.

I don't know what you mean by EID.

When you pay Motorola, & have a legal copy of the CPS, Motorola will send you an EID which will allow you to program wide band freq's. This will continue to work with newer CPS as you upgrade. The patches available on P25.CA are CPS specific, & each CPS version has it's own patch. By the way, I'm not preaching, as I didn't pay for my CPS either. Got it on E-bay, & a friend recently gave me the EID. But I had been using the patch from P25.CA until I got the EID.

The 25K spacing option is not a patch that can be downloaded. It's what Motorola calls an EID (for Entitlement Identification) which is a keycode you get from Motorola. It's free, but you need a registered copy of the CPS software and also have to take a little online course, 10 minutes or so to be able to order it. There was a discussion on RR a couple of years back; you can find it at:

Actually it is. There's a third party patch that allows older versions of CPS to use 25khz bandwidth.

Unfortunately, as of CPS 13.0, it's not supported.

I'm sorry, but it is. P25.CA has offered downloadable wide band patches for those who do not have a paid copy of CPS. They offer every version right up to 12.1. They didn't make a version for 13.0. Until I was given an EID from a friend, I used their patch, & it worked perfectly.
