Okay, there's a Barnes and Noble books store that I go to every now and then. Whenever I walk in to the store, my scanner starts making a clicking noise, like someone is holding a Nextel right next to it. The otherday it occured to me, that there's a Starbucks in inside the bookstore, and I remember someone once telling me about wireless internet inside some Starbucks stores. Would that possibly cause interference on my scanner like a cell phone would? The noise stops as soon as I walk out the front door.

I have heard that WI Hotspots will cause interference, and have heard that certian portable phones will cause interference to WI reception. What bandwidth is the "clicking" in? 800/900???

I've only noticed it on 800 but I haven't tried out other bands. I usually turn it off, because "Fire Box xx-x units respond for an apartment fire with people trapped, ops on TG 22!" Doesn't seem to go very well with the shoppers  But the other day there was a FF from A.A. Co. with his pager on so I didn't feel so bad.

BTW, antennuater doesn't seem to help which is why I think it's something inside the store.
