I haven't tried static IP. Last night I went to the 2nd router and switched it to Bridge Mode but I let it obtain the IP Address instead of keying in one. Should that've worked or do I need to specify one???

You should have done a static IP on the second router but the way you get it now should work to either way with a static IP just makes it easier to get into

I will specify a bit more on this, the cat 5 is ran to a small box outside the social hall, it is then connected to external cat 5/phone wire through conduit running the the fire house to the chief's office then its a cat 5 jack. We then have a small piece of cat 5 from the jack to the 2nd router.

I agree. If you got the laptop to connect, then keep the network configured in that manner. The remainder of the problem (probably) exists on the smartphone not the network.

Sometimes smartphones won't detect-and-connect as easily as laptops do. In those situations, the wireless-connection-setup has to be done manually in the smartphone (i.e. manually add a wireless system connection in the smartphone).

Hope this helps,

I wonder if there mite be something wrong with the wire. May need to get a vdv on it and make sure wiring is good and not mis wired or damaged.

The DHCP pool mite be full. I think default is 50 clients

Test with the Laptop

First I would hook up your laptop to the Ethernet in the second building and see if you get an ip address from the first router. If not there could be a cable issue or a bad port on the First router, so try another port. How do you have the 2nd router set? you said bridge mode but is it still handing out an ip address? If it is then turn dhcp off What port on the second router do you have the cable ran into? hopefully its in port 1,2,3 or 4. it wont work in WAN port.

You can set the 2nd router to a static like the previous user said and It would be easier to be managed. For example if your main router hands out an Ip address in the range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.50 give the second router a 192.168.1.2 and set that ip address in the main router dhcp reservation.

Oh and one more question how many devices will connect to the internet? If its more than 50 then you need to change the amount of ip address the first router hands out to the clients, If its over 100 clients then you might have to change the subnet.
Hope this helps

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.2; en-us; SAMSUNG-SGH-I547 Build/JZO54K) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30)

So I need to connect the CAT5 wire to either ports 1-4 (like hooking up a 2nd wired PC to the network through cable) instead of the internet port?

You got it. I had it in my post and in the pic.

Okay I got you now! So if I did that it should work! And would that HAVE to be configured through a wired connection?

Its Better

If you can do a wired connection then that would be better, but you can do via wireless.

Okay, so all I have to do is set my the 2nd router to Bridge Mode, specify it to obtain its own IP Adress and connect it to one of the PC ports?

Ip address

Set the 2nd router to 192.168.1.2
Set the starting Ip for the 1st router at 192.168.1.3
What kind of routers do you have anyways?
