Wondering if LE Will be using full time Encryption for dispatch ? Probably to early to tell , has anyone heard any news about this ?
Late reply, but yes/no. Wise county WILL go encrypted soon, but unknown when. They originally had plans on going encrypted when, or shortly after the new system got released, but they ran out of money supposedly. So, I don’t think they’ll be going encrypted very soon, but won’t be surprised if it’s later this year, or next year. Unknown if they’ll do full encryption (which I think that’s what they had planned), or if they’ll do a Tactical.

Their secondary channel isn’t an information one. During the work weeks (Monday-Friday), it’s mainly used for transport deputies, while the main channel is for everything else. However, they sometimes do use the secondary channel for a backup channel, while the main channel is closed, or they use it like a TAC channel. The main use for it currently, is mainly just for transport deputies, or anything related to it, besides ACO (Animal control.) as the county continues to grow, the secondary channel will most likely start getting used for other things, or eventually be an INFO channel. If or when wise Co. goes encrypted, I bet they’ll encrypt that channel, and use it for info, while keeping Channel 1 open.

I don't know. Hopefully, someone closer will be able to help figure that out.
Just saw, something about pools? Maybe? Rhome and Boyd PD are switching to Decatur dispatch, so maybe it could be related to that at some point, although Decatur and Bridgeport will switch to wise P25 in the coming weeks-months. As far as I know (having family that are first responders for that area), they don’t have any conventional channels. Only one that still does, is Bport PD.

Can anyone confirm if Wise County went ENC? I am at the Tarrant/Wise line and previously was able to receive them.

No, they have not. They have been having lots of issues with the whole system (reception wise). There’s many times where first responders can’t be heard or can’t hear dispatch. They are still working on it, but for the most part, works good.

I noticed that I wasn't hearing them on Wednesday. It seems they added a control frequency back in September 2024 of 151.25 mHz that I had missed. I also noticed traffic on 154.1 mHz. I added these channels and now hear everything. They were doing radio tests this morning in the Newark area.

yes. They have been doing radio test for many months now. They can go a few weeks without any issues, then they’ll start to have issues again. They were having more issues yesterday. Definitely a common occurrence.

These are whats listed. They rotate somewhat. I have also seen 154.1 mHz show up. I am using SDRTrunk software and a RSPDuo SDR.

I don’t use SDRTrunk, but I have seen all, including the 154.1 mHz. I don’t have the 154.1 programmed in (don’t remember the full frequency), but have all the others programmed in, as it works just fine for me, even without the 154.1. I’m not sure if it’s a new CC or what, but have seen the 154.1 one for a month or 2 now.

There's a new Wise County license. I'm not sure what these are going to be used for, and I likely won't be able to hear them. If anyone out that way can help ID them, please chime in. Perhaps part of the P25 system?
