Not with the required in-building coverage for West Ocean City and south to South Point.

Isn't the south site for OC going to be at the coast guard station? That's only about 1.25 miles from the Mystic Harbour water tank, and almost exactly the same distance to South Point.

Without getting into a lengthy discussion of RF modeling, a lot more is involved in coverage engineering than distance. Particularly when you have a complex coverage target that includes 20-50dB buildings in a finite area.

- Anyone having trouble with Ocean City EDACS today? I've got very weak/no signal at north end.

- Also when is P25 changeover going to happen? After the busy season is over?

The majority of the Worcester system should be accepted by the end of this month (excluding the Mystic Harbour site). Full migration will not be until late October. EDACS will remain online with limited channels and some critical groups passed through the migration gateway until Ocean City completes their migration.

While in the area over the weekend, I didn't see the Worcester P25 system online.... maybe I had something messed up but I don't believe that was the case.

Also noticed that an application to change the license to add the Mystic Harbor site was returned with problems last week.

ULS Application - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Trunked - 0007917745 - WORCESTER, COUNTY OF

And finally, I probably never paid attention to this kind of thing before but it looks like all of the towers are 360 degree radiation/coverage except the Newark tower which is only 60 degrees in a southwestern direction.

Has there been any RID logged on the new system? Who is using it as of right now?

Switchover has been moved to Nov/Dec I believe.

RID will closely mirror that of the Worcester EDACS system with 266 or 267 added to the front end of the id for Worcester users. Any other users will use their home systems p25 id format.

In my limited monitoring, there was mostly only one law enforcement talkgroup active (patched to to the EDACS system). I suspect this allowed for some testing by admins and users. I didn't pay too much attention to the radio IDs to determine if most of the activity was a patch radio ID vs. seeing if individual P25 radios were in use but I suspect at least a few were.

I will be spending some time in OC beginning Friday the 20th. Is EDACS still the system in use? Does it make any sense to program for the new P25 system? Final question is can you monitor any FIRST system communication from around 111th street?

Thank You,
Mike

EDACS is still in use - both the OC and Worcester sites.

You might want to program in the Worcester P25 system - the latest word was cut-over was delayed until later this year but you may hear something (use a wildcard/ID Search mode).

I usually plug in the OC 700 frequencies as both a trunk system and as conventional for giggles but lat I saw, that system is quite a ways out in the future.

FiRST Worcester and FiRST Ocean City usually carry some amount of activity.

Anything new heard on cutover date(s)? I'll be up there in a couple of weeks and was hoping to hear more on the new system.

BTW - RRDB still says "Cutover to P25 system is expected by September 2017".
