Ws1065 scanner transmissions fade in and out

I have a WS-1065 with a Tram 1094-BNC antenna and used Win500 to program my scanner. Ive noticed that my transmissions fade in and out and I only hear bits and pieces of the received calls. The signal meter on the scanner shows a strong signal during the transmissions but the sound fades in and out. I am new to the digital scanner world but am learning. Does anyone know if there is a setting that i need to set to fix this, Thanks

Try one of the NOAA weather frequencies (the WX key) - does it fade in and out?

What are you trying to listen to? What agency/system?

the WX weather freq. works good no fade

What system are you trying to listen to, and how away from it are you?

When you say 'fade in and out,' is it garbled?

it is the local police they are about 15 miles away from me not garbled just goes silent and then back again

Do you have 150.7750 or 154.2500 in your scanner? The repeater output, 154.2500, is what needs to be in the scanner.

i have 154.2500 it seams to be working better it may have just been something with the transmission from this morning

I think you might have had some transmitter close to you, causing desense.

The u.s. 1065 and a pro 136 why is it that my pro 136 picks up more than my digital scanner. I am in Taylor county Texas and on the pro 136 I can hear the jail from where I sit in potosi but it does not come up on my digital scanner

i am kinda frustrated with this radio so far. I don't know if it is my antenna or what it is. I just ordered a better antenna and hope it helps. I hear about every third word when they transmit. I hope the better base station antenna helps. I just relocated the antenna I am using to the peak of my roof but the transmissions are the same.

How far are you from the transmitter? Which antenna did you buy?

I'm probably less than 25 miles from the transmitter. I ordered Tram 1410 Broad Band discone antenna.

every time the transmission skips it shows "priority check " on the screen. How do I turn that off?

i figured it out now to see if that helps.
