Berkeley Co. - TG 1153 Sheriff's Office Alt

Hear 2 reserve officers using TG 1153. They were calling it "talk-around". One said if they use it Central wouldn't have to be bothers by them.

There have been a few new additions since my last query, so I'll update... I've heard talkgroups or radios from the following counties / series on tower 0109; can anyone add to or correct any of this? Thanks.

039 = R4 Regional

Also, they've been doing the counties like this: ccnn for talkgroups and ccnnnn for radio IDs -- i.e., each county gets 100 T/Gs and 10,000 radio IDs. But although the state's talkgroups seem to follow a similar pattern, primarily at 9xnn, for whatever reason, the state's radio IDs have been at 09nnn (corresponding to Region 1's regional T/Gs) instead of 9xnnnn as might be predicted.

For example, for Kanawha County (county 61):
T/G ID 6120 = Kanawha County PD, and
Radio ID 610335 = Kanawha Co. Sheriff's Deputy Unit 51

And for the State's talkgroups:
9301 = WV DOH F-1, but instead of
Radio ID 093nnnn for DOH radios, they're at
099nnn for DOH radios.

Go figure.

Hi Folks,

Sorry if it is buried somewhere in 38 pages of posting but what site(s) is Westcom in Wood County using for traffic?

I travel your beautiful state alot. Mostly Greenbrier Co to Wayne Co in to Kentucky or Greenbier Co to Wood Co in to Marietta. Occasionally hear some traffic around Charleston (actually heard encrypted traffic Friday night). Didn't record the talkgroup and I know, that information is worthless without talk group numbers. Sorry.

Thanks in advance for the information on Wood County.

Good question, Chris. I've heard someone calling WestCom, and I've heard users on WestCom's talkgroups, but I've never actually heard WestCom. Maybe there is no WestCom ;^) If they're hitting a tower, I'd have a hard time believing it's Charleston, Huntington, or Clarksburg, all at 50-75 miles or so. They'd likely have a RID between 90100 and 90200; anybody else heard them?

Good list...

Just an observation, but I see you have 6130 as Municipal FDs, with 6131-35 as possibles. My take on this? Given the smaller city "turf wars" of the past, It seems that, even though cooperation between municipalities is better now than it has ever been, there is still a good amount of territorialism (!!) :).

Thus, I would more 'n likely be inclined to say that 6130 thru 6135 may be assigned to the different municpal fire departments...

Whaddya think???

Berkeley Co. - Judicial Center Encrypted Traffic

Just heard encrypted traffic on TG1123, Judicial Center. It was only one person; the person who answered wasn't encrypted. I didn't have UniTrunker running so I didn't catch a RID.

WVIRP ARC MEM File

I took a little bit of time to put a few systems into one system. This way, you can load all the systems and TGs into your 996/396 without having the maximum allowed systems. I have them broken down even further for only Jefferson and Berkeley counties for the 396.

Attached is the MEM file for ARC396 or imported into ARC996.

It wouldnt's surprise me if they go that way. But once I thought I heard Nitro / St Albans FD being patched here, and I definitely heard So Chas FD here. Maybe they were 'spare-uh-mentin. When IRP first became active down here, I heard someone on this channel (way before I could catch RIDs) holler "901 to any municipal firefighter" (unit # might not be right). I guess we'll see when actual units start using the system, instead of these patches, with all the audio quality of tin cans and string (and no way to see RIDs).

Yeah, the simulcasts are pretty bad!!...

Just out of curiosity, have you given (or had) any thoughts on where the local PD's (SC, Dunbar, etc) may wind up? So far, I haven't heard anything at all with them....

VHF highband? I haven't heard any clues. The 06100-06109 TGs have mostly been hit my MEOC RIDs, so I think those will be some kind of admin/shared/EOC something. The 06160-06180 field is unhit so far; maybe in there... Or maybe 062xx is more than just Charleston... But then 0613n would seem out of place. Maybe they'll all share LEB-West? Even though they probably should, that'd be a surprise.

I notice that the dB admin is sticking with 06171 = KANA Tac-1, 06172 = Tac-2, etc. Can someone confirm that this is incorrect? I was pretty sure that I heard 06170 referred to as Tac-1, 06171 = Tac-2, etc. me714? Also, I see 06123 listed as "Car-to-Car" and 06184 Health Dept F-4. Those are both new ones one me; anybody confirm? Thanks.

Also, today at around 1930E, Berkeley RID 00-11-1-400 and RID 00-13-0-001 both affiliated to T/G 01907/Reg2 EMA. 00-13-0-001 is from one of the counties we've yet to ID. Both radios logged on at around the same time as each other, too (around 1750E). Did anyone catch any audio from what might have been a conversation?

Finally, there are still several RIDs in the State's series of RIDs in a block that I don't have IDed. Anyone know what these RIDs are:

- 00-09-1-001 thru 00-09-1-052 (affiliated with 09771/DHSEM-1 and a few others)
- 00-09-4-100 and 00-09-4-200 (affiliated with 09340/{un-ided})
- 00-09-5-013 thru 00-09-5-056 (affiliated with 09223/{un-ided})

I haven’t been watching it lately. After surgery I did not feel up to it very much. I had logged on the day the president was at the Greenbrier and logged RID 91582 on TG 9771 said he was at Hinton EOC (early that morning). I did had more from that day with TG 9771 ID himself because he thought someone else was using that channel, but a loose connection in the computer caused a crash and wiped out the files on everything that was running, so I was not able to look at them.

For now the only 2 RID I have with 9771 is 550901 and 680105

I'm off the next 2 day's I hoping to get that computer back up to run UniTrunker.

My records agree with you, that 6170 is Tac-1, 6171 Tac-2, etc. The 6123 surprised me too... Don't know where that came from, though maybe someone got ahold of a SD radio somewhere and keyed it up beside a 996...

Interesting.

Funny you should mention that.. I know one of the medics around here who is also a radionerd. I've frequently seen the truck that he's in a lot affiliate with every T/G in the radio. I'll bet that's exactly what's going on....

I wish someone would do that and let us know what the 0r9xx T/Gs are called; my guess is they are mostly or entirely constant from region to region.
