I guess the old saying really is true, "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him understand water." I'm done with this, you guys don't understand AM modulation. You talk as though single sideband suppressed carrier and amplitude modulation are different things when the only difference is that SSB is an AM signal that has been further processed. It don't matter, everything is going digital and just like vacuum tubes, nobody will have to know analog radio anymore.

Again, I think it is very likely that you are misunderstanding what I am saying. I understand very well that SSB-SC and AM are closely related. I also understand very well that SSB-SC is essentially an AM signal with one unwanted sideband and the wasteful unneeded carrier removed prior to transmission. I do not believe I have every said otherwise.
