XTS 5000 and XTL 5000 Programming

Not sure if you have made a visit to the www.batboard.batlabs.com site yet. If not, you really need to go there and register. That site has the ability to send private messages and does provide some ability to keep the CB type radio dummies at bay. There also is a large number of very educated people there that work on Motorola gear.

If you can, I will look for you there and work with you. Just I hate to provide an email on here and have the world slam you with trash emails. I do look at that site several times a day.

Dude, how much of your check are we getting here? You need to run your CPS in XP mode, number one. Windows 7 32, or 64 bit, does not work well with programming software. Number two: You need to download the proper driver then make sure the CPS is pointed to the correct port (where your usb is connected). Third, call you bosses and tell them to pay to have them progammed before you brick these poor radios. Even batlabs isnt going to walk you through Astro25 Programming step for step.

@MikeO The parallel cable is part no RKN4105A (programming/test cable)

@cifd64 The CPS is working regardless of mode I run it in using Windows 7 Home 64 bit.

@all I have successfully figured out programming functions for XTS5000 radios. The issue I have is the programming cable I am using for the XTL5000 radios is the GCAI port cable which is used on O5 control heads. I have O3 control heads. I need to use the J2 26 pin programming cable in order to proggram the O3 control heads. Problem solved

ASTRO25 and the other CPS's have been Vista/Win7 compatiable for quite some time now. Read the release notes. I have ASTRO to APX running without any issues on 4 machines right now.

Your also not going to brick any radio if your reading and writing with normal CPS unless you end up unplugging them in the middle of a write cycle. The ASTRO25 series with fairly current firmware with the loaded flashzap loader is fairly reliant.

In other words, you need to be playing with restricted software to really screw them up these days.
