I have a Yeasu FTM7250 and have a UHF frequency programmed to receive. The frequency is 460.625, however there is a birdie or other interference on the channel that causes reception to be very limited. Is there an "IF" frequency that works with the 7250? I've used IF's with scanners in the past, but haven't been able to locate it for the 7250.

Thanks.

Have you listened to that frequency, without the antenna connected ? See if you still hear it, then. It Might not be a birdie. My 7250, doesn't have any that are noticeable.

It’s been a while, but I believe I have tried the frequency with no issue, when I briefly had the radio in my house. I’m thinking less of a birdie and more vehicle interference. I’ll try it without the antenna. And now that you mention it, I don’t think it had any birdies while it was in the house.

This what you looking for?
Receiver Circuit Type: Ifs: Double Conversion Superheterodyne
1st 47.25 MHz, 2nd 450 kHz.

It might be. I’ll give that a try. I was thinking a smaller number, but that maybe why I haven’t had any luck.

Thank you both!

There's a function in the Setup menu for shifting the CPU clock frequency. Shifting that frequency may eliminate birdies...or it may not. It might be worth a try.

Thanks for that info. I’ll try that too!

My son’s vehicle is having issues and he has been driving mine with the 7250, so it may be a few days before I get to it. But thanks to all for the good work-arounds to try.
