Yet another antenna thread...

Hey all,

I want to install an antenna on the roof of my house; however, to keep things on the level at home, it has to be fairly low profile.

I've been considering an AOR SA7000...does anyone have any other suggestions? I'd like to cover VHF Low, VHF, UHF and 800. No discones....

i use one and it does a decent job for what it is.

I bought one used for $125 and its probably worth that but not worth the retail price. If you need HF its an interesting antenna with a quiet noise floor but that's because its numb. It does receive strong SW stations ok but misses a lot of weaker amateur radio stuff. VHF/UHF is nothing special and I believe a Discone works a little better and for sure more consistent across the 100 to 500MHz range. I've not compared it to anything on 800 or higher.
