One other factor, some distributors will ship on behalf of the dealer (especially for brand new high-demand items). In that case, "in stock" could actually mean in stock at the distributor. It is quite possible that Zip was relying on information they were getting from their distributor that was unclear and subject to misinterpretation by Zip (leading them to believe it was ready to ship when the distributor was actually not ready to ship). I believe Zip has a single location, so when they "ship" from anywhere other than Minnesota, it is likely the distributor shipping on their behalf.

I think you're spot on. According to their website they have 4 warehouses they ship from: Minnesota, Indiana, Texas, and Florida.

I agree. Even with the "delay", mine is supposed to be delivered on Monday. This is still earlier than I expected.

I don't believe that it was the intent of ZipScanners to mislead or defraud anyone. It's just how the term "In Stock" is interpreted between the business and the customer. I'm sure there are lots of businesses that operate the same way. Generally, when people ask a business if an item is in stock, they don't expect the business to give them a detailed explanation of their warehousing, distributing, inventorying, and stocking policies.

Guess What? You ain't gonna believe this...

USPS delivered my SDS 100 from Zip 10 minutes ago. Not sure why they did since it's not an Amazon order, but its in my hands, has the magic Willy Wonka golden ticket from the free revised battery, and is waiting for me to swap out the included memory card with the same 32 gig one I have in my 436 and to purchase the DMR and NXDN upgrade keys.

That’s sweet. USPS sometimes delivers to me on Sundays.

I read a post from Upman about the card type - to use either “high endurance” or “industrial” so I decided not to move mine over and got a new one instead.

You will love the SDS 100, not much not to love.

That's bizarre.

It's definitely a USPS thing because this is the not the first time they have delivered non Amazon merchandise to me on Sunday while they have been in my area delivering Amazon packages. And its packages that were scheduled to be delivered to me on Monday they have been delivering. I think this is the third time its happened.

Received an update that I'll be getting my SDS from Zip today (Sunday) as well!
Gotta say, with the shipping situation being a day late, ZIP did come through and communicate very well and honestly once they got their shipment! That's all we can ask for once the mistake was made..

Sadly, my USPS package will arrive tomorrow as scheduled - no such luck having it delivered today as it hasn't arrived at my local distribution center yet.

I commend ZipScanners for working diligently to get the delayed orders out, and their communications about what occurred, but still a bit salty about why it occurred. Totally avoidable sturm und drang.

Is Sunday package delivery by the postal service not available everywhere? They've been doing that around here for a while (years?) now.

I don't think the intent of ZS was to defraud anyone, but I'm pretty sure they wanted the sale.

I am more than inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. Well, I would be even more inclined if they would change their opinion of 2018 scanner of the year. :)

I would not be surprised at all if they (Zip Scanners) changes their Scanner of the Year choice, following this release!

Mine was attempted to be delivered today but I didn't hear the doorbell (working graves). Wish I was awake, could have played with it tonight. USPS kept telling me delivery was expected tomorrow (Monday).

Wow I heard all of this bashing about Zip Scanners and they worked extremely hard to get their orders out and shipped. Then on top of it scanner radios are being delivered from USPS on a Sunday. That's un-heard of for the postal service. But that's a really nice treat to have something hit your hands on a down day when people have some relax time and a knock at the door and your radio arrives.

Awesome news to hear.

USPS didn't do it to be nice or do anyone any favors. Most likely ZipScanner paid extra for that service. ZipScanner deserves the credit.

Mine is also scheduled for delivery Monday. I have to give Zip Scanners kudos for working hard to rectify the problem and sending out numerous emails to keep customers updated. I was concerned when the tracking info. stayed at Pre-Shipment for days, but that is how USPS works. Sometimes it gets updated as soon as the package is scanned, but sometimes it does not get updated in the system until hours later.

In any event, I am looking forward to getting my hands on it:)

Ummm...

Zip has nothing to do with the Sunday delivery. USPS, for whatever reason, delivered to some early.

Am I still bashing Zip for their mislead advertising? You dam betcha I am.
