106 Sale

Took the printed copy of the F&F 30% coupon to Radio Shack today and got my Pro 106 for a grand total of $279.99 plus 7% tax $19.60 for a total of $299.59. Great Deal. I have looked at the Win 500 program and the ARC500 software and downloaded both trial versions. The Win 500 looks really complicated where the ARC 500 appears to be user friendly. Is there something I am missing on the Win 500? What programming software is everyone else using on the 106?

I run WIN500, ARC500 & PSREdit500. Each has good and bad. If I could only have one it would be PSREdit500.

I have a question. I went out to my local Radio Shack on 10/31/2008 and purchased a Pro-197 scanner at $499.99 and used my coupon to get $150.00 discount. They had to order the radio and have it sent to me. Matter of fact I have not received the radio yet should sometime next week. Has this radio gone on sale for $399? I have tried to check the Radio Shack website but it is down at the moment. If the price came down that night on the radio to $399 and take my ticket back to the store where I bought it will they give me a credit on my account and sell me the radio at $399 and then take the coupon off that? Just wondering as some others in this post have done so. Does anyone know?

My radioshack did not have it in stock either, but they said they would order it for me at the $399 price and have it shipped to me. There was no problem at all applying my coupon which brought it down to $276. I will receive it in about 3-5 days.

Guess I spoke out of turn! Last I looked the specs had changed again and it had not been accepted.

Online shows them in stock. There are none in the region I live in. In fact there is only one 106 in this region.

Guess I better order a 197 "direct to you" when I stop buy one of the stores in the morning. Wonder if it will be 399 as well? The web site says 499.

They're in stock at the distribution centers, but none of the stores in my area had the 197. I ordered it on the spot (with the discount and the F&F coupon) and it will be shipped to my house; should arrive Thursday or Friday.

Now to sell some stuff to pay for it...

Yes, take sales slip back. They refunded to my credit card the price of $349.99 + tax. Re-sold the 197 back to me at $399.99, discounted 120.00 using F&F with new cost of 279.99 then added new tax.

F&F expired Sunday at midnight. So you may have missed out this time. They will run another around Thanksgiving I would imagine.

Done Deal

Bought 1 PRO-106 for $296.00 including MI tax. Manager had about 10 coupons printed out behind the counter for customers to use Removed the battery pack out my current Pro-96 to get the unit up and running. The Pro-96 AC adapter is the same polarity so I was all set; already have a USB cable from my GRE-600. Was told by a reliable source, when GRE posts a firmware update for the 600 they "should" post one on the RS site at the same time for the 106... No more motor boat noise free.. ENJOY!

My buddy got his 106 Fri. I got mine Sat. we both used the F&F coupon. After reading this thread I called my buddy to tell him about getting the refund for the difference. He called the RS we got them from and they told him the coupon was over on 11/2 and we couldn't do it now.

Does anyone have any info on that? Is that true?

Thanks that's what I was afraid of. I was hoping it would be like some places that if something went on sale so many days after you got it they would refund the difference.

You know that getting an F&F discount is out, BUT if you bought it originally with F&F all you are is shooting for is the $100.00 off. Let them know that and see where it goes...

Well everyone, I purchased a Pro-197 on Friday and did had to order it and have it send to my house. When I came home Sunday Night I found out that the radio went on sale either Sunday or Saturday. On Friday I used my F&F coupon at the store. Found out Sunday radio went on sale. Called the store up today and they told me that If I brough my receipt to the store they would credit me the sale price. I know the sale went on while the coupon was already out.

Well I finally pulled the dunce hat off and figured out how to use Win 500 and I also downloaded PSREdit-500. I like the PSREdit 500 but for some reason the hit counter won't work. I have it enabled but it still records no hits. The Win500 records the hits. I think I will try both of them for the evaluation period and make a decision then. I love the 106!!!!
