I deleted my question about that but guess you seen it ...hahaha
yes I was wondering abt aerial at night but then again being in
the Army 10 years I should know better ...thank you ...Marcy

Just checked my handwritten notes for the past activity ..... NAC 293 ..... Talkgroup 1 and RID switching between 1 and 38448
They will go quiet since there is probably less movement of the targets after the sun goes down. I am monitoring from here to see if I can hear anything. Will check the PA site as well.

PS - thank you for your service to our country

and now I can hear them......they were just active at 19:24

I always use this to see who's in the sky.
The National Guarld Helicopters dont run A civilian IFF so they dont show up around me but this gives a good clue
who is out there.

They are up high enough that both of my sites are capturing the signal with NAC etc.... So basically a triangle between Marcy's location - a site near the Philadelphia Intl Airport and my site here in Villas NJ.

They do not show up on any flight trackers at all........even when they depart the surveillance orbit. Once you determine where they are - you have to listen to local ATC to get any details.

Pete - try punching in the freq in a radio and see if you can hear them.....I am guessing based on your location and the amount of water areas in between - you might hear them as well

Have the same thing with the Army National Guard Out of Quonset Point Ri last weekend 4 Black hawks in class D airspace went by and they
didnt show up on the tracker but there was a KC10 tanker orbiting over the cape for hours and a Coast Guard Sea Hawk running around
with Full Data. If they are on the Tacan and using S band IFF they wont show up.

Yeah these are probably Cessna 208s or Cessna 206s - depending on the mission and on station time.

They can be found on conventional VHF ATC freqs and talking up in the 136 MHz range as well

A search of the NTIA printout (unclas version) shows 163.3000 as being used by the National Weather Service for data in its RAMOS system and its EMWN (Emergency Managers Weather Information System) in several locations around the country. The NWS is also authorized to use it anywhere in the U.S. and possessions. The NTIA printout also mentions agreements with other federal agencies for their use of that frequency on a cxase by case basis.
