I'm a late jump-in on this thread, but all I can say about this setup is "awesome!" This is probably the cleanest Tahoe setup I've ever seen. It puts the TEMA vehicles to shame!

Welcome to the thread Andrew and thanks for the Kudos. I don't know about beating TEMA, they have much better funding than I do.

Do the front seats in the PPV have airbags in them? I'd like to get some sheepskin seat covers but you have to order special ones if the seats have airbags installed in them.

I must apologize to all of the fantastic people that follow this page, you are right it has been a little dead lately but this it why:

I am in the process of starting my own ambulance service and my radio and electronic skills are all being used to build it. More importantly I am saving those all important start up dollars by doing the work myself. As of yesterday 10/24/2012 we passed our inspection by the Tennessee State Department of Health EMS Division and are officially a licensed ambulance service.

One of these days I'll get back to work on the chase vehicle.

Congratulations on getting your ambulance service off the ground. I know how hard it is to pass (and maintain) those much needed certifications. I know the guy who owns the local ambulance service where I live and I've seen the hoops he has to jump through just to keep everything going.

Good luck to you!

I know I am way late, just joining this thread, but what light is this and where can I get one? I would love to get one like this. Thanks.

Also, I love the setup. Looks absolutely amazing. So jealous.

I saw on one page of the thread that you were talking about the 996XT and tone out. Did you get this yet? And using the 996XT itself, you can identify the tones each dept uses. It will measure them when they come in and display them on the screen. Takes some time to gather all the tones in your area, but its a nice feature.

If you like that, take a look at the FireVulcan LED version. Smaller, uses the same charging base, better battery life, and has two blue LEDs in the rear so you can easily be seen from behind even in smokey conditions.

Alexkaczor look at the E-spot or E-flood models of the LITEBOX. They are AWESOME and a great improvement of the standard incan litebox. light output is 3-4 times on the E-spot with up to 14-16 hours runtime. I bought the upgrade kits for my incan models, worth every penny 50-60$. I havre them on standy right now for storm duty. my local FD borrowed mine a cpl weeks ago to see it after I told them about the upgrade kit. Total night and day difference. The Fire box is lighter but the E-Spot is brighter and lasts atleast 2-3x. All you guys with the incan models take a look at the kit and save yourself a few bucks and still get the new model light

Sorry Git, the Kenwood TK-790 / 890 dual head is pretty much the de facto standard for ambulances in this part of the country. That and I have lots of experience working with the 90 series DHDB platform.

I think the ambulance buildout warrants a new thread. Here, and/or on eLightbars.
