Me too brother. Lowbander since 1979.That's about what I'll expect to see on the reverse out here - you East Coast types blasting into California. We'll see what the log has in it when I get home this afternoon.
HAARP is about to be keyed up over the next few days, we'll see what if any impact that has. I appreciate everyone's ongoing contributions, I'm really enjoying doing this stuff.
See them right now in southern germany. SpE in October? Interesting. Almost no fading.Something for American Dxers to look for - Turkish signals across 34 and 35 mhz - they are forestry management / fire lookout towers and are often quite busy. From 34.0125 - 34.9875 there is voice in 12.5 khz steps with repeaters below 34.5 and inputs above - 500 khz spacing. At the lower end of 35 some areas have switched over to eDMR - if you have an sdr here's what that looks like. Best time to look will be US mornings.

I wish I'd gotten started in this long ago, but at least I didn't completely miss the bandwagon, and at least lowband is still alive and well, apparently coast-to-coast. I haven't even really touched anything past 31/33MHz yet. Trying to go in sectionsMe too brother. Lowbander since 1979.
Got to ask TPL or Kenwood...I wish I'd gotten started in this long ago, but at least I didn't completely miss the bandwagon, and at least lowband is still alive and well, apparently coast-to-coast. I haven't even really touched anything past 31/33MHz yet. Trying to go in sections
I jokingly floated the idea past one of our techs at work to do a 33MHz simplex disaster channel at work between all of our facilities, base stations only...
...but I could actually make that happen in my position.
Maybe someday.
You didn't miss the bandwagon but you did miss most of the band members. The number of stations active today is only a fraction of what we were hearing in the 70s and 80s. So many state police networks, fire departments, businesses and unencrypted military stations.I wish I'd gotten started in this long ago, but at least I didn't completely miss the bandwagon, and at least lowband is still alive and well, apparently coast-to-

I didn't get serious about radio until 1993 or so, so I suppose there is that.
