Christian County 700 (4-3) has been decently busy today. It sounds like they've patched their County Law 2 channel from their DMR system to MOSWIN. I'm mostly only hearing the dispatchers traffic, and then very occasionally a unit will respond. I can hear a very faint DMR keyup tone in the background.

I only had a few minutes to listen to recording, and review UniTrunker data... but something to keep an ear on if you're in the area.

"Missing" sites:
I'm doing a bit of MOSWIN investigating.
Assuming ALL the site numbers are still in effect from the sequential numbering, which generally followed their on-air date, we have not found a few sites that are likely to be on the air:

Zone-Site number:
1-16 - would have been on the air for a long time, likely somewhere in Outstate/Central Missouri. surely VHF
1-73 - Most likely 700 MHz, probably on the air since mid 2021
1-92 - Most likely 700 MHz, probably on the air since mid 2023
1-94 - same as above
1-97 - same as above
1-101 - same
1-102 - same
2-004 - St Louis area most likely 800 MHz
3-050 - Most likely 700MHz and in the SE part of the state, where the rest of Zone 3 is located
3-052 - same as above
3-058 - same as above

CAN YOU look for these "missing" sites? If you travel in MO, take a minute every 50 miles or so and do a search.
Thanks!
There are going to be "missing" sites as you have called them. They were previous or temporary sites that no longer exist. As Zone 5 comes alive, other sites will get moved into Zone 5 and new ones will not take their place in their old zones.

As far as site 2-004 goes, that used to be a site in O'Fallon. Prior to SLATER going online, the city of O'Fallon had an 800 MHz trunking system that was linked to rest of Region 2 and eventually the rest of MOSWIN. When SLATER came online, O'Fallon shut off its old system. Thus no more 2-004.

Thanks @bdzig that clears up 2-004, and you are correct there will be new "holes" in Zone 1 as they migrate to Z5.
However, I expect at least some of the others missed in a strict sequence as listed are yet to be identified. WOrth being on the lookout when traveling!

@Firemen605 what you see in the database is what has been identified so far in sites that have had their ZOne changed. If you see more, please submit.

While traveling across Missouri, I logged info on the following MOSWIN sites (that are not listed in the RRDB). This should help with your investigation of missing sites.

System: MOSWIN, Site: 3.050 : Unknown
System: MOSWIN, Site: 3.060 : Unknown *****

The only site I received directly was 3.60. The other sites are based on advertisements from neighboring sites.

Thanks @RMason for the insight - the sites that are now zone 5 are not "new", just remumbered from ZOne 1. All of this is good fodder and may help. Need to dig out the maps!

Here is what I logged for 'unknown' sites in zone 5 while traveling through the KC area. I took some time to try to line up the NAC, Frequency List, and Neighbors List against sites in zone 1 to help identify the renumbering.

System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.006 : Likely Independence ****
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.007 :
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.010 :
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.018 : Possibly Sedalia 700 ****
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.019 : ****
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.020 :
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.021 : Possibly Richmond 700 ****
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.023 :
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.024 : Likely Lee's Summit 700 ****
System: MOSWIN, Site: 5.025 : Possibly Odessa 700 ****

SitesI received directly are marked with **** above. The other sites are based on advertisements from neighboring sites.

This should help with identifying renumbered sites.

While traveling across Missouri, I logged info on the following MOSWIN sites (that are not listed in the RRDB). This should help with your investigation of missing sites.

System: MOSWIN, Site: 1.097 : Unknown

System: MOSWIN, Site: 3.050 : Unknown

The only site I received directly was 3.60. The other sites are based on advertisements from neighboring sites.

Site 3.60 is a new site in Cape Girardeau County. The site is in the Eastern part of the county near Trail of Tears State park (not in the park), It does not provide great coverage so I don't know if they are waiting to turn the power up or it is meant to be low profile. I had a -115 dbm signal in NE Cape City and -90 dbm at 177 & HWY W. Only traffic I heard while listening for a few hours this evening was Cape City Fire Main. No traffic from Cape PD, Troop, SEMO, Region E IO Call etc. was being passed through. I did not have anything with me to monitor CC data to determine if anyone else was attempting to affiliate.

Thanks for the info on the location of site 3.60. I logged this site overnight on Saturday (10/25) while staying in Perryville.

<edited> Let me review my logs to see what talkgroups I logged.

Is there a way to find out which talkgroups or counties typically affiliate with a specific tower site?
You need a scanner that can log activity and set it for only that site or you need something like Unitrunker that can log all control channel activity. You would need to do either of those for days or weeks.

Or you could stay close to your scanner and manually check which site is being used. On my 396xt for every site I program for MOSWIN I type I. The site number in the upper right portion of the screen. When a TG is active on the scanner the screen will show which site is being used.

If you use the sds100 and program multiple sites, it might show which site us being used. However, I have noticed that if you are very close to a site/transmit antenna, the scanner may always show the site you are close to.

Also remember, that with the MSHP they could have a car transmit through multiple sites at a time. I have seen that both in a rural area and an urban area.

Good luck. As mentioned above, any way you do it will take patience.

The frequencies listed for the Mountain View site (3.37) seem to be possibly incorrect in the database.
3 (3)037 (25)Mountain View 700Howell, MO769.43125769.93125770.18125770.93125c773.55625774.05625c

While traveling in the area in October, I logged the following in DSD+. The frequencies logged appear to match template 'g'.
Code:
Site: 3.37 NAC=1CC ; Mountain View 700

    Neighbor: BEE00.1CE-3.2 ; Van Buren
    Neighbor: BEE00.1CE-3.18 ; Alton
    Neighbor: BEE00.1CE-3.23 ; Willow Springs
    Neighbor: BEE00.1CE-3.25 ; Eminence
    Neighbor: BEE00.1CE-3.41 ; West Plains 700
    Neighbor: BEE00.1CE-3.48 ; Houston 700

    Channel 1-1764: 773.03125 CC
    Channel 1-1804: 773.28125 SCC
    Channel 1-1844: 773.53125 VOICE
    Channel 1-1884: 773.78125 VOICE

The frequencies reported by DSD+ do not overlap with those listed in the database. Can someone local to the area confirm the frequencies for the Mountain View site?
