I keep watching this very closely, as soon as 700/800Mhz is supported it's a guaranteed sale here.

Latest firmware feedback & PRO96Com compatibility

I can report that the new firmware is working really well now on the local UHF Motorola P25 phase 1 trunking system. Some previous problems with the ADCR25 not trunk tracking Motorola 'Supergroup' patches correctly have now been fixed.

Also, for those interested in obtaining even more detail about the system being monitored, I can report that ADCR25 is compatible with the excellent PRO96Com software in GRE mode.

If running PRO96Com, you just have to close down the ADCR25 tuner software first as only one software can access the tuner at a time.

This little device just gets better by the week :)

Could someone clarify how this boards work? It says 'without a pc'. Does that mean you program it for a set of frequencies and then you no longer need the computer and can monitor like any other scanner?

It is a receiver that is controlled with PC software. The software allows for searching, scanning, trunking, RSSI adjustment, and a Unitrunker style of trunked interface.

If unplugged from the PC and plugged into a power source it will resume operation where it left off. So, if it was on one channel or frequency it will remain there. If it was scanning while unplugged it will resume scanning while off the PC and on a stand along power supply.

IF Version

The fella that produces the ADCR25 is also developing an IF based DMR/P25 decoder that can be interfaced to virtually any receiver.

The module will take an input from the receivers 2nd (10/20Mhz) or 3rd (450/455Khz) IF stage and produce decoded DV audio that is then applied to the radios audio stage prior to the volume control.

I'm looking forward to installing one into a V/UHF dualband ham mobile radio.

So is this rumor?

Has anyone designed with mini-circuits mixers before, perhaps a 10.7->418mhz upconverter is what we need ?

Linear Tech makes an upconverter: LT5511, for cable boxes for this freq range and purpose. $9.94
418MHz is a common and available SAW filter for around $2.47 if that is needed.
Programmable LO 10-425MHz $20. (Micrel inc. DSC8103) ?

The design aspect requires I can calculate and adjust for impedances and reactances, I cannot so I'm out.

Some of our government services people still use voice inversion, and as a "one decoder for them all" that should be included.

I expect voice inversion would not be hard to code into the DSP.
The work has been done and the models are out there.
Maybe even split band option would be nice.

Can't wait till he gets it perfect and voice encode becomes an option.
THEN, build it into a hammy rig.

This is great if it will handle Con+ Dmr trunking systems

Apologies in advance if I missed the answer to this question, but is anyone aware of any indication as to whether Con+ or Cap+ MotoTRBO trunking may be forthcoming with this product?

And on an unrelated note, does anyone have a suggestion for how best to use this device in connection with audio recording? Similar to the BCD436/536/HomePatrol's Discovery Mode whereby audio from unidentified talkgroups or frequencies are easily stored for later review and identification? Or does a combination of the "SEARCH" function and the "LOG START" function do something like this (unclear from the manual).

Would be great to use a device like this to easily log audio and data on a trunked system and record nice clear digital audio from unidentified talkgroups (or DMR conventional channels) it stumbles upon.

He mentioned earlier that Capacity Plus/Connect Plus etc would not be included due to their proprietary nature. I'm sure enough technical info is out there for him to do it, but there might be legalities involved. Even in Mother Russia. Would be sweet though, especially for Connect Plus.

It scans but doesn't pickup anything. Just moved and had it packed away. Hope noting happened to the board itself.

Can someone tell me if the ADCR25 detects the digital mode automatically? Or do I have to select the mode and then scan or sit on a frequency?

I do not own one of these, yet. But looking at section 11 of the manual, it shows that in search mode you can tell the device which digital modes you want it to search for on a given range of frequencies.

So for example you would enter Start Freq: 440 MHz and Stop Freq: 460 MHz. Then it allows you to select P25, DMR, Fusion, or NXDN. It will search through the range of freqs and store freqs in memory for modes you have selected.

Hope that helps

Hi

I am a noob to Multitrunking. I just received the ADCR25 Pro 2, and it is hooked to my antenna. I am in Tucson, which has a large PC25 II network. The VU meter shows a strong signal on the main control freq of 859.1 , and green Health indicator. No voice channels are showing up, but I figure I must need to do something to set it up. English instructions are not helping me. Can you possibly help me with setting this up for my local system?

Thx
Todd

ADCR 25 Pro 2

I found out that the ADCR25 Pro 2 will NOT work for PC25 phase 2, which is the predominant system in Tucson. Is anyone interested in purchasing my brand-new unit?

It's been 2 months since anyone's posted on here. Did the 700/800 model come out?

I'm at work right now and can't get the web site to come up, but then again they block A LOT of web sites!

I sent the Russian an email earlier today with that very question. I will post his reply if there is one.
