Which Tram model? There are many that will work with that scanner.

Might have water ingress also.

If the antenna looks good, and the connector locks good, (no corrosion) try replacing just the coax. What's the worst that can happen? If you end up needing a new antenna, you will already have new coax.

bingo.

All the antenna in the world won't help you if the signal path from it to your devices is hot trash. If there's no obvious physical damage to your antenna, @dave3825 is right, just replace the coax. You could always do a new aerial later.

GET RG8 or (rg8x) x is better....CORRECT? txs in advance all....

RG-8 is "better" than RG-8X.

There are "better" cables out there than RG-8 or RG-8X, but your budget will dictate.

I find aged coax to have a more concentrated and fruity bouquet and an aged antenna to be more tender and flavorful. I have special racks in the rafters of my garage for aging antennas.
Well there's an antenna snob in every clique. Me I just leave them outside until they turn either white or green then use them as is. My ears can't tell the difference.

wow! new cable came in 40ft/$28 free ship......started raining but took old cable off and theres areas that has large rips exposed line. NEW rg8 should make 'huge' difference and im 40 ft closer to scanner.....gotta wait on rain....
