To see that in real time must be amazing. Flightaware is real slow when I watch the screen and listen to the radio.

I'm so looking forward to this addition to my shack.

Thanks!

Planefinder does a good job showing the ADS-B aircraft traffic over the United States and some part of Canada / World.
http://planefinder.net/

Limited coverage for FlightRadar24 ADS-B coverage in United States & Canada.
http://www.flightradar24.com/

I also use the DPD ADS-B Antenna for Southern California. (KLAX radar on FlightRadar24.com)

It's nice to buy something(DPD antenna) that's Made in USA not CHINA :D

Note: FlightAware.com is delayed by 5 minutes per FAA rule for using the FAA data.

Hate to bring an old thread back to life, but I did not want to post a new topic on such a long shot.
I am currently sharing my ADS-B data with a few sites such as planefinder.net . Recently I noticed someone else in the Austin,TX area has set up a station to the east side of Austin, or so I assume. They seem to be able to track most flights arriving and departing KAUS and even them just sitting on the ground at the airport. I think this is awesome, since my receiver/antenna do not reach the airport, just to about 1500 above. If you are out there speak up! Would like to hear more from you. Thanks.

I wish there was an easy way if you did share infor with specific sites or software, you could contact other users. Would help out with MLAT a ton!

Can't wait to get mine set up. I spotted my first 748 going overhead thanks to Flight Aware. Nav will be a nice addition to the shack.

DPD Antenna installed!

I received my DPD antenna today and installed it in my attic (no outside antennas here...) and it really made a huge difference on my RadarBox!

According to the Polar map I am hearing from Detroit MI to the Quad Cities IL/IA, north past Milwaukee WI and as far south as Kankakee IL.

I went from a weekend average of 10 to 20 aircraft to upwards of 75 most of the day.

Working great!

That's very good range. Can't imagine what type of rang I will get on the top of a 48 or 60 foot tower. BTW I love the way you have photos of your shack Airplanes and all. I'll have to include my ac in my next shack shot.

The higher up you go, the more noise you will get. At least that's been my experience. I raised my antenna from the attic to the peak of the roof and signal got worse :)

You can try it and if it works for you that's awesome. But don't be disapointed if it doesn't.

Thanks for the heads up. What kind of coax were you using? I've heard of guys using these on top of apartment buildings with no issue. Good to know I may run into a noise issue. However being out in the sticks might help me as well.

Well when I say worse, I'm not talking about going from 100 to 25. More like 100 to 90.

I think I'm using RG8X? Not sure.

For my DPD antenna and RadarBox I am using 30 feet of LMR240 with N-Connectors at either end. For the relatively short distance it has a good combination of low loss and flexibility.

I just this weekend put my shack back together, I will have pics up soon at the Pictures forum.

Awesome, looking forward to that. I'll make sure I add my collection of 200 scale in mine too.

For my setup - I recently added a Mini-circuits ZRL-2400LN+ LNA (1000-2000 MHz) between the DPD productions antenna and the AirNav Radarbox. The results are pretty tremendous - I'm now seeing average messages per second of 300-350 and high altitude coverage almost to DFW to the north and well into Mexico to the south from San Antonio. I've attached a screenshot of todays traffic....
