Talkgroup 8332 is active on the Lawton, OK site 43.
There are no RIDs showing up so I assume it's a patch from EDACS. Unfortunately I can't monitor both at the same time.

As Mike and others have said, and I've noticed as well, the RIDs for these AEP systems are odd. They show up as 98xxxxx while listening to the control channel, and a totally different RID # while listening to a voice channel. Most of the time they don't show up on UT while listening to the Indiana 1F5 system either. Although I do occasionally see some 98xxxxx, 100xxxxx, 20xxxx RID numbers.

Went down south yesterday and. . . nada. I searched the 800 MHz band at South Point, Russell, Ironton and Portsmouth; using an antenna on the outside of the truck the only new thing I got was the CC you listed for South Point with a NAC of 03E, and it was so weak no other data came through. Next time I go south I'll check again unless someone else gets there first.

I did see a bunch of ferroequines, though.

Tom

I am looking to make a road trip in the near future if all works out to southern Ohio. I hope to find the last few remaining sites.

@firemantom26 is heading down Rt 23 towards Piketon now. That is God-forsaken land down there. 500-600 ft amsl all the way down 23 -- lousy for finding a "sweet" spot to pick up 5 or 6 sites and confirm them. But, the man wanted to make a road trip. So hopefully we can confirm as many of the 6 Ohio sites that we can. Portsmouth and then South Point are significantly south (bottom of the state), and going that far would make for a return trip over 4.25 hours long. Nobody wants to be driving that long. So hopefully we can get some confirmations without going further south. There is no easy and efficient way to figure out a place with high elevation down there to stop off and do some sleuthing. That probably should have been done in advance, but I didn't know he was going until today LOL.

So far Tom was able to confirm 52-Otway, 60-Oak Hill, 61-Peebles and 67-West Portsmouth. He is leaving Lucasville heading south. In Lucasville, he picked up Peebles (855.8625), which also happens to be the current CC for 62-South Point (which he is trying to get). So he has to move away from Peebles and closer to South Point. But he wants to try and confirm 48-Bentonville without going in that direction. His next stop is Portsmouth. He'll try to pick up both Benton and South Point. if he cannot pick up Bentonville, we will not confirm that one today -- will have to save it for someone else. I think he'll go as far as he needs to confirm South Point though.

New Site 1F6-50.50 Rome (Scioto) was discovered and confirmed online. Tom is heading towards South Point. Bentonville is no joy. Somebody else will have to confirm that some day. Tom will get South Point confirmed. That'll make for a total of six confirmed sites with Bentonville being the only one left in Ohio not confirmed.

I'll try Connersville,IN (don't know why they have a license there), Avilla, and northwest Indiana this upcoming weekend.

I wish I knew the purpose of those three or four sites with single-frequency licenses. I don't know if anything will ever become of those.

The single frequency sites might be for data only requirements. This was quite common here in Michigan on the Consumer's Energy TRS. Eventually, they added additional frequency pairs for voice traffic at all sites in their service area.

I'll second that comment.

Another odd thing about the AEP licenses is that none of the licenses, that I have seen, have the input/mobile frequencies.

Love to know why I didn't catch those when I was down there a couple of weeks ago; I searched 800 MHz and got zip. Couldn't be an antenna problem, the antenna I was using picks up 700/800 like gangbusters everywhere else.

Tom, I am not sure why you did not see all the sites that were on line. Mike and I ran DSDPlus to find the the 7 sites. Mike was my co pilot via cell phone . We also discovered a new site being Rome that was on line.

I couldn't say. But they were online. They have been online for a few months now. So something must be amiss in the mobile-sleuthing kit.
