I think this is grounds for a class action lawsuit against uniden! There's no way it could possibly take this long to remedy the issues, on top of the slap in the face by releasing several new products since this all started. WTH uniden! You have my money now I want what I payed for, or a complete refund and you can have the radio(s) back! Quit freaking giving excuses and get your ish together!

what is the status of Android siren app for the 536HP. Uniden has had over a year to work on this app.

There is no status. I contacted Uniden support about three weeks ago to pose this very question. In true GFY style, they responded that "they're working on it". I asked specifically for one or more of: delivery timeline, feature list, explanation as to the delay. They provided *nothing* other than "the developers are working on it."

You can't possibly treat your customers any worse than Uniden has here. No official communication, no mea culpa, no honoring returns (I tried a long while back). Yet, according to the site, the Android app "is coming!".

Even the Uniden apologists on this board must be second-guessing their loyalty as this situation has careened full-speed into Twilight Zone territory.

Never again, Uniden. Absolutely, positively, never again.

Most of the excitement this week was over the Provoice option. I, along with many others, have been waiting patiently (!!!) --- some for nearly 2 years for the Siren option for Android. My understanding it is that is available for Apple, but that the proposed infrastructure which would allow connection through Uniden's dedicated servers has not been appropriated (to the best of my knowledge),

And let us not forget the stripped down Analyze function, which is missing many of the features of the HP-1 and HP-2 series, including the bandscope and other niceties.

When you say "Never again Uniden", I don't think anyone will buy any future scanners unless all the advertised features are up and running, and not based on promises that seem not to be fulfilled.

I have a love/hate relationship with Uniden. On one hand, the 436 and 536 are the best scanners ever offered. The HP-1 and HP-2 are also very good and unique with their touch screens. On the other hand, I am as disappointed as your are (and as many hundreds are here in the forums) that Uniden has been unable or unwilling to get a handle on the remaining features that we have all be waiting for to come to fruition.

I don't think that a class action suit would be effective. You might want to look at my post here:

I gave up on any android APP so I went out and got a IPOD touch to use as a remote head in my truck.

You could have bought a 8 inch windows tablet and PROSCAN and saved $50.00 and had a full featured remote head with audio and recording.

That would have required another license for Proscan as I am already using both of the ones I have. And I traded an older Android 10.1 inch tablet for the IPOD touch so it was basically at no cost!

I also have 2 keys used but $100.00 for a 8 inch windows tablet and $50.00 for proscan is $150.00
a 16GB IPOD mini or touch is $199.99 it is still cheaper with more features.

And you would have another PS license left over...

You know Bob does a great job with ProScan. But, I think the ability to just add more licenses to your current one instead of buying all new license would be a better option. But then I have no idea how he has it all programmed and it is his software so he can do as he wants.

At this point I really have to wonder if the Siren App will ever be completed as a fully working product. It's not looking good. Android version? Don't hold your breath!

And what about that server that was supposed to get us out of the house to use Siren anywhere we could get Internet service?

Sure wish I could be more optimistic about this, but I see no action taking place. I had high hopes for it over a year ago, and actually got my first iPhone because of it. No regrets on the iPhone, but much disappointment with Siren.

It's clear that the app is not priority. It's now 2016 and still no android version and we still have a limited IOS version. Others will come on here defending the delay due to the wifi dongle but at some point even they will have to admit this is taking way too long. Ask this question again in 12 months (3 year mark) and watch those same folks still provide the same reason for the delay.

I believe that a class action law suit for all owners of the 536. I'm super surprised how Uniden gets all that money makes promises they can't keep. Some little angry man answers the phone in Uniden tech support. So unprofessional. It's unreal what they get away with it. Introducing provoice which is phased out pretty much? Yet the can't fix the multi path simulcast. The 436 and 536 side by side pick up transmissions intermittent the other one misses. The launched the 996P2 but didn't correct so much on their flagship model. I've really lost the excitement for Uniden sorry Paul it's not you seem to be a decent gentleman I just don't like the all show and no go.

I am going to give this idea a try! I got a 7 inch Windows tablet en route and I got another license for Pro Scan. At the very least it will give me Volume control of the scanner, along with other options of Pro Scan. Total investment $70 for a Win 8.1 tablet and $50 for Pro Scan. Siren just has too many limits and bugs.

I think you will enjoy this setup very much as it works for me. I remember the days of having to buy additional software back a few years ago to get what we wanted.

I got one of those small Windows tablets for SDR use. (it works great, BTW)

I'm not sure I would want to use a license for it, but if you don't have access to an iOS device, that is certainly one option.

Another is the Uniden RH-536 program. Ironically, a program they released but never promised.

Call some attorneys. Let us all know what they say (when they stop laughing).

I don't mind paying for another license for ProScan. Bob does a great job on the program, So I end up with a total of 4 computers I can use it on instead of two. I already have it on 2, My feed computer and my main computer. So another license for a little tablet is no biggie.

That RH-536 program is just too unstable as it was never intended as a commercial program.
