I look for a new control channel occasionally. I'll need to look more frequently as I know they are getting close. I'm assuming that a couple MW paths at Crownsville have their nodes on the state's tower, and a fiber line runs between the shelters as there is still only one path licensed to New Crownsville (Shipley) and only one dish up on the new tower.

And the new system is up! 851.1375 is the control channel. SysID A7E site 01-001 NAC A71. Alternates are 852.6875, 853.3250, and 854.5125.

There won't be any traffic for a while - they need to configure and test it, then do the coverage testing before the leaves drop. Calvert's P25 system took 2 years between first going on the air then becoming operational, lol. Hopefully AACo's system will perform well from the get-go, and not need revisions after coverage testing (or network redesign, ahem...)

The only SUID (aka RID) I've noted is 2225125. Perhaps 222xxxx is within AACo's Region 20 subscriber ID range. The acch 854.5125 is still an active voice channel on the P16 system - we saw a similar config when Montgomery County was transitioning to its P25 system. The other three cchs are virgin channel resources licensed for the new system. Two TGIDs are showing up, Checks and Continues - no channel Grants: 5027 and 5039.

So far, coverage seems good from Annapolis to Baltimore City - more stable than Montgomery County's system that has noticeable areas of marginal RSSI. Interestingly, coverage drops sharply in the Curtis Bay area of the city, then then gets very good with 500' of the county line along Ordnance Road, lol. I'm not convinced that the Brooklyn Park site is tune up or even on at this point.

Reviewing the logs, the new system went off the air at 11:26am, so the "no coverage in Canton" may not be accurate.

Just read this. I have a fair signal in Baltimore at Eutaw and Franklin.

The Arundel Center site does not appear to be on the air (basically 4 antennas on the roof of the building.) Overall, good coverage in North County.

I have a radio set to record voice traffic. So far, it's only recorded one voice hit: July 20 at around 5p - was this when you heard it? It was the same tg and RID you indicated, and the tech said the same thing you heard.

I've been looking through the logs. Several "foreign" radios have been denied affiliation. Suspects are from: St. Mary's County; Frederick County; and Atlantic County, NJ (ahem - ducting?)

Maybe, but more likely a subscriber that is down your way whose radio is trying to register on the new system (see my explanation in the Unitrunker Google group).
