They have been running analog audio patches for the past week or so. Most of them haven't sounded so good, so maybe they've made some adjustments. Not sure if this has been touched on elsewhere but heard some interesting communications today on SysTest 2. Sounded like AAFD Charlie was either patched in or running simultaneously on the new system. Audio was crystal clear, unfortunately I didn't think to snag the recordings or bother with looking at UID's as I was driving most of the day.
They're probably watching these forumsAnd they flipped the encryption switch today. All the testing has gone dark - they don't want the public to know what's going on with the testing it seems - or some yahoo setting up a stream of a system still in testing - the transparency might be embarrassing in the short term.

Thier iPads don't connect to the cradlepoints. They are on thier own connections. The position info is already shared through CAD.It's been crazy in the county for the past two days: a wife shoots the husband in the head, then guards the victim while still holding the weapon in her lap; a different shooting; an Amtrak train plows somebody on the tracks (Priority 4,) and now today a dump truck fully involved with the driver trapped (in a non-hydrant area.) The Amtrak call was interesting in that responders were using their CAD iPads as location devices while on the tracks that connected via WiFi to the Cradlepoint cellular modems installed in their vehicles. This allowed them to map the positions and share the info with other responders. Amtrak had to bring another train down from Baltimore to evacuate the passengers.
The first due engine officer took his iPad with him so the Battalion Chief could see where he was along the tracks since the apparatus couldn't access the area. At least this is what he said over the air, telling the chief that he should be able to see his position on the map.Thier iPads don't connect to the cradlepoints. They are on thier own connections. They arent hotspots. They are just AVLs.The first due engine officer took his iPad with him so the Battalion Chief could see where he was along the tracks since the apparatus couldn't access the area. What does the CradlePoint connect if not the iPads? Is it just for a hotspot?

How is this a problem or embarrassing? Anne Arundel does not own the system, Motorola still owns the system because it has not been accepted by Anne Arundel, so technically Motorola can do whatever they would like. You folks act like this is your system and you are the administrators. And they flipped the encryption switch today. You don't think the County hires people to make their system right? The person in charge of the radio shop seems to be pretty good at his job and I am sure he will not let anything slip by, every county in this State has a good radio system managers/radio shop managers, not much gets by them, how do I know, I work with most all on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and they are more of a critic of their systems than you are.I act like my county needs the best system, the best administration, and the best value for our money.
I'm not sure why you think that I am criticizing or questioning the competency of the county managers and technicians who work on either the current system or the one under construction - that is solely your construct. I earlier commented based on my observations of the current state of performance of what I am sure is a temporary patch, and I have previously stated or implied that the system should fully support its users in both typical and extraordinary circumstances, and for the information it conveys to remain in the clear, with reasonable exceptions. This project is probably the most expensive single technology project the county has ever entered, and we all want it to succeed and to meet or exceed contracted specifications. Part of that informal effort includes people providing their observations including comments that might be viewed as negative or uninformed. You don't think the County hires people to make their system right? Shhhh..... lol. The talk groups you hear are bridged from the P16 / SmartZone digital / analog system. They may not be the same in the final fleet map. As far as programming your TRX-1, I'm not quite sure what you are asking - can you be more specific?Whistler trx-1 wildcard is bringing in a lot of hits but I want to put them in a scanlist where they belong.
They show up with a talkgroup ID but making a new entry doesnt seem to be getting them out
of wildcard status. I I also need to mention Ive tried digital , analog and auto to no avail. Any ideas?
