Passing through on 50 today and the patching has ceased. Just an occasional BSI.

Seems like a lot of new tgs working today as I pass through Annapolis. 8829 is the Annapolis Harbormaster

8629 - 21C Annapolis Services (Harbormaster, Parks, Sreets)
8823 - 20D Health Department
8828 - 20H Inspections & Permits Main
8829 - 20I Zoning Enforcement
8830 - 20J Inspections Meet ME
8848 - I believe is AAPD CH.5 CID (ENC)

Noticed some radios logging on to the system for testing/key ups on what could be DPW/Inspections talkgroups. It appears that it is radio tech's with the radios and not actual DPW/Inspections users with the radios. My guess is that these are the replacement radios for them as I believe they still use XTS-5000 radios now.

The radio activity that I have heard on the P25 system from actual radios on the system sounds good. The patches aren’t horrible but the audio can be low but that it is expected when it is analog patches to P25.

Inspections and Permits started using the system earlier this week with their new radios using talkgroups:
8828 Inspections & Permits Main
8830 Inspections & Permits Meet Me

Park staff started to use the system yesterday:
8903 Park Ops 1
8904 Park Ops 2
8905 Park Ops 3

It seems that DPW Highways received/installed new radios in their trucks this week. It appears that they are still using the old system but just some radio tests on the new ones. Their talkgroup was never very active (other than snow events) so it is hard to judge.

8697, 8698, 8699, 8700, 8701, 8702, 8703, 8704, 8705, 8706 are all patched together.

I believe 20A DPW Highways is being patched into these talkgroups. My guess is that once they switch over, different sections of DPW Highways will split into separate talkgroups instead of just one talkgroup that they had on the old system.

I was very impressed with the range of this new system, I was able to pick it up with no issues along I-495 and on I-270 in Montgomery County the other day.

8616 - Paratransit Buses (Aging) still patched into 8617

Their "Base" (Dispatchers) stated using the talkgroup yesterday. Some of the buses (per radio traffic, the buses with new radios installed) are using the system today.

Per radio traffic, Millersville landfill/recycling center had there "truck" radios (mobiles) installed this week and they would be getting their portables next week.

Health Department did some testing on their radios this week. Also sounded like DPW Water Meter Department received their radios too.

8708 DPW Water Meter Department
8712 Landfill 1 (Millersville Landfill and Recovery Facility)
8713 Landfill 2 (Millersville Central Recycling Center)
8714 Landfill 3
8823 Health Department

I noticed that the encrypted police tgs have been added to the RRDB - that might be premature.

Yeah I was hearing the police encrypted also, was wondering if they were going to keep them that way or not, hopefully not.

Some notes on recent radio activity.

Parks & Inspections/Permits appear to be 100% active on new system. Aging, DPW Highways, & DPW Water all use the new system but I believe that not all radios might have been switched over yet. Regardless all the talkgroups are patched back to P16 system.

Some of the Landfill/Recycling Center personnel were using the P25 system but it seems that they have stopped using it.

Regarding Police, so far Park Rangers utilize these encrypted talkgroups to communicate with police. I have also seen a Dispatcher use the Channel 5 talkgroup on the P25 (encrypted) and patched back to the P16 system (in the clear). Police Dispatch Consoles appear to have a RID of 100x.

Regarding DPW Highways/Water, it appears that they also have consoles at their base stations with rids of 104x.

DPW Highways are 8697-8706 which are all patched together. It seems that users don't realize they are patched together since sometimes a user will say they are on a certain talkgroup but they are all patched. Based on some radio conservations at least some of the talkgroups may be "Dover Rd", "Western", "Eastern", "Southern," & "Western Admin".

So far I have noticed no activity related to AACC Public Safety, Detention, Sheriff, Annapolis PD, or OEM.

I also believe that AACo Transit/Transportation Buses (MOVE) Vans use the Aging Talkgroup (8616). 8616 & 8617 are patched together. I *think* potentially 8617 could be the Transit/Move talkgroup when/if they remove the patch.

8711 is definitely "trash related." I am wondering if 8711 & 8714 are Northern Recycling Center & the Southern Recycling Center.
