Doubt it. Probably just programming.
Can we assume then that the county did not purchase OTAP or OTAR? Or does "initial" programming require "touching" the radios? Maybe it's a safety thing to make sure OTAP was completed successfully or to assess why a radio needs the programming that should have taken place over the air?

I also heard during the afternoon yesterday on the CID channel that an office asked if they are operating on the new system or the old system and something about patching, which I guess was related to a barricade in Edgewater. Then the dispatcher said ops is on 11 Nora and 12 Henry was the tac channel. Nothing like throwing a working incident into the mix with all the switchovers.

They would need to initialize the radios for OTAR and OTAP.

It seems unusual that the AAPD Tac talkgroups just added to the database jump from TGID 8862 Tac 12J to TGID 8863 Tac 12L. Is there a Tac 12K?

Seems that the Police Training Talkgroup (Academy) units are still operating on P16.

Haven't noticed any activity on the Animal Control (P16) talkgroup so I guess they migrated over to an ENC talkgroup.

Sheriff & Annapolis PD Dispatchers are all using the P25 system.

I thought I noticed AACC Public Safety/Police Dispatcher using the P25 system this morning. Didn't catch an exact RID but it wasn't in the range of the Consoles but 223xxxx. I had thought AACC had a Console but maybe they were using a portable.

Maybe they use a consolette - it has an RID as it is essentially a mobile radio in a desktop housing.

Could be...

AACC Dispatch & Security/Police Officers are now using the P25 system starting this afternoon.
RIDS: 22334xx including Dispatch.

8681 and 8683 became Very active today. Fully Encrypted. Rids 2235xxx. Unknown who it is but maybe Detention Center as some logged onto that talkgroup (8685).

**Maybe** they are going to move Detention Center ops that are on the conventional frequencies to the 800mhz system? Just a guess...

Seems to me that it would be considered one of the critical buildings that are required to have coverage throughout.

I believe 8859 (Encrypted) is Animal Care & Control. There was no patch between P16/P25 during the pre/post switchover as other talkgroups were.

No way to verify but...
-Only logged 8 RID's on this talkgroup. Users "stay" on this talkgroup. 1 RID is very active which could be their "base" radio.
-In the AAPD zone.
-Went active after AC P16 talkgroup went quiet.
-RID's used on the talkgroup are also in the AAPD Zone.
-Animal Care & Control is under the umbrella of AAPD.

With 75%+ of the system encrypted. It is hard to verify a lot of these unknown talkgroups.

8681, 8682, 8683, 8684, 8685, & 8686 should to be Detention Center related. All Encrypted.

8681 & 8683 are both very active.

8685 is patched back to P16 (18224 - Detention 1). I believe Detention 1 was transportation related activity between the detention centers. 18256 (Detention 2) on the P16 do not appear to be patched to P25. Detention 2 seems to have gone quiet after the switchover yesterday. I believe Detention 2 was mostly Maintenance related.

If anyone is near JRDC or ORDC it might be worth checking to see if the 800mhz conventional frequencies are still active and maybe patched into P25 (doubt it though).
